Puddledock Woods Camping

喜欢 Wooded location is great, rope swings for kids and small shop to top up on extras.
Clean facilities and friendly staff.
Campfires allowed is great, and small site size is nice for community feeling. First time at camping for my 7 year old and was a hit!

不喜欢 Larger group allowed on site staying up until 2-3am drinking, laughing and talking, not very considerate for others (especially those with kids) late night noise / disruption levels not enforced or managed by staff.

喜欢 The owners were lovely and so friendly and helpful, full of recommendations if you’re not sure where to go especially as we had a puppy. The pitches are spread out - so much space in between them and they have fire pits and picnic benches dotted around as well as swings.
The outdoor showers were great and better than expected. Toilets were clean and always stocked with toilet roll.
Make sure you grab a drink in the bar - local ciders are a must. Hot tap for washing up and a bowl and sponges etc were there.
Handy having a microwave, toaster, fridge and freezer.
We loved it so much that we stayed an extra night!
Local beach is a 15 min drive and it’s sandy with a lovely cafe and pub. As well as grove ferry where you can hire canoes etc

喜欢 Perfect little break away.
Great facilities and still feel secluded in the woods. Lots to do around with local beaches and sites to see. Highly recommend

喜欢 Just fab. You could be anywhere. Don’t know what else to say but will certainly stay again. Hidden gem don’t tell anyone about it.

不喜欢 Washing machine and or dryer would be great.

喜欢 Friendly, welcoming environment. Lots of facilities including toilets, a shower, a wetroom, a bar, sink for dishes and a shop. Facilities were well maintained. Wheelbarrows were supplied to take our things from the car, which was very useful and overall we really enjoyed our stay.

喜欢 Helpful and understanding owners. Good facilities and a nice atmosphere and environment if you’re after a social chatty camping weekend (which I’m not and I chose badly which I admit)

不喜欢 I had booked the site due to reviews mentioning the peace and tranquility. However unfortunately the campsite right next door was absolutely full of large groups of people and children being extremely noisy, playing music, kids screaming, playing games etc. I don’t have a problem with people having fun but as I specifically visited Puddledock to get some peace and quiet I decided to leave only a hour or two after I arrived. Additionally the woods were full of mosquitos so be aware of that, I came home with around 15 bites just from the short time I was there and I had used insect repellent spray.

喜欢 Really relaxed location, not too busy and plenty of space.

Really easy drive to Margate, Broadstairs, Whitstable etc. for day trips
