Morelands Copse Camping

喜欢: Peaceful surroundings right in the middle of woodland. All the wildflowers. Hot tub which was setup for us. How cosy and romantic the Shepherds hut was with bedding, gas heater blankets, torch and candles. The outdoor kitchen was equipped with tea/coffee/milk and a kettle/stove with gas. Very close drop toilets which were clean and had toilet paper. We did the Shawford Down loop walk which was so varied and exactly what we were looking for then we treated ourselves to a great meal at Fisher’s Pond pub a couple of minutes drive away. Heard owls at night and woken with the bird chorus with woodpeckers. It was exactly what we were looking for to have a break.

不喜欢: It was a little tricky to contact when I first made the booking months ago but they were really available just before and for the duration of our stay with staff on site checking we were ok.

喜欢: Very chilled and tucked away site on a farm. The field was large enough that we weren’t too close to other tents.

Mark who was the site manager for our weekend was super helpful and friendly

喜欢: Massive secure interesting camping site, with mini forest with loads of natural seating and fire pits.

Took my dog Purdie, many great walks just outside the site, you can walk for miles and we did.

My Kes hut remined me of my shed but on sticks, off grid perfect if you want peace and cook food on the fire pit.

Large open plan kitchen area in the grounds, has everything you need to make a decent meal.

不喜欢: Nothing and I have been to many places last year to compare.

喜欢: Me and my partner loved staying here in the Kez’s Shepherds Hut it gave us an idea of what living in the wilderness would be like and brought us closer to nature as we live in a town with minimal woodland around us. My dog Halo absolutely loved the freedom, she came face to face with a horse for the first time and they touched noses, her reaction was priceless and will remain with me for the rest of my life. We are planning on coming back in the summer with the kids and we cannot wait to experience this with them. The owners are really helpful and friendly I would recommend to anybody and everybody I know about this place. 5*

喜欢: Perfect location a little quirky, everyone friendly and welcoming. Out of all the sites I have ever stayed in this is by far the best.. this place is no hassle so if you need a site I could not recommend this place high enough.

喜欢: Simple and well kept site in the woods for a good price. The communal area under cover was a nice surprise.

不喜欢: Very little signage or pitch markings or visible staff and no site map which led to a confusing arrival.
I only received an email while on the way explaining it was a first come first served basis for pitches and just to grab one.i finally noticed that email after wandering round the site a bit confused.
Quiet time after 10.30 was not enforced.

喜欢: This place felt so magical and fun with the woodland walk to find a pitch and the little details dotted around really added to that. Loved that I was able to have a campfire!

不喜欢: The only reason I didn’t give a 5 was although it felt in the middle of nowhere there was still the background hum of main road noise with some loud motorbikes making use of the quieter roads at night.
