Primrose Cottage Camping – a sweet-smelling name indeed, with spectacular countryside views to match. Set amid grassy fields, woodlands and streams in the lovely Lancashire countryside, this site is an excellent spot for back to basics camping in a low-key setting – and as an adults-only site, it does not accept children. Located beneath Healy Nab and next to Blackbrook stream, the site is hidden away in the local countryside. Flat walks along both footpaths and canals are available a few hundred yards from the site gates, making it a cinch to get out there and explore Lancashire's best scenic spots and wildlife havens… Strolling through the local landscape is, of course, an activity you can get up to with your dog if you've brought one along – Primrose Cottage Camping has pet-friendly rules, with polite four-legged friends welcome here all year round. In fact, all guests at this quiet site are asked to be polite and keep any music at a low level for the benefit of everyone around. Chorley town centre is a mile away, although with the rural views here you wouldn't know it. The closest pub is 10 minutes' walk away, and are plenty more pubs, shops and cafés in town within easy reach either on foot (20 minutes' walk) or by car (five minutes' drive). There's also good access to the speedy M61 for long-distance drives to the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District, both of which can be reached within an hour.

喜欢 Nice, flat field. Welcoming owner, Laury. Quiet site, just lovely bird song. Very clean toilets and cute flowerbed. Use of fire pit and logs. Good walks straight from the campsite. We enjoyed the Rivington brewery walk and the local Masons Arms pub, friendly and good beers.

不喜欢 Some motorway noise, but it didn’t disturb us. No showers or washing up facilities but that’s fine just for a weekend.

喜欢 Spacious, flat and quiet camping area. Lots of room to pitch and didn't feel too close to other campers. Toilets are clean and tidy. Friendly hosts too.
Primrose Cottage campsite is in an excellent location for country walks and more demanding hikes into the surrounding west Pennine Moors directly from the campsite. Brilliant local pub (Lock n Quay) that does excellent food. This campsite is a hidden gem
