Bolbec Manor Campsite

喜欢: Great site with spacious pitches. Facilities are good, including hot showers, washing up station etc. Views are amazing. Asked the owner about nearby walks and advised the Derwent reservoir. The route was really pleasant and would definitely recommend, not too challenging. Had a fab stay, can’t wait to return.

喜欢: As always lovely clean site. Stunning views even when the weather's not the best. Amenities a good standard. Lovely food in the pub next door.

不喜欢: Only thing I would say is more electric tent pitches. Nothing to do with the site but kids running in front of cars isn't ideal. Not really a place for kids tbh as it a very chilled relaxed vibe.

不喜欢: On first night two families were parked next to us with grown up kids on bikes who kept riding and jumping around our tent, very irritating but luckily they moved on on the second day

喜欢: This is second time we have visited. Children and the grown ups to 🤣 love that you can have a raised fire pit as not many sites allow camp fires and that a big part of camping. Small site so everything to hand and easy to keep eye on your children as small grass area to the centre of site to play, this also has seating area , picnic table. Showers and toilets great. Washup area to. All you need for a fab break. A good walk down farm track to Derwent Reservoir with fab views. If you have a good stroll down and around area and back to site its about 7 miles total walk, great on a nice day. Pub just out campsite gate for food etc. Just off main 'A' road but you cant hear traffic. Very quiet and peaceful.

喜欢: Great location as so close to Derwent Water and within easy reach of shops etc.
The site was quiet, and the owner really welcoming.
Nice hot showers and washing up station.
There was even washing up liquid and toiletries in each if the bathrooms/kitchen area.

喜欢: This was mine and my husbands first camping experience and we weren’t disappointed. The site is small but there is ample space per pitch and nicely spread out.
When we arrived there was a sign advising to ring or text to let them know you were there, one of the owners came out and pretty much gave us the pic of the spot we wanted, he was extremely helpful and asked us if we enjoyed walks and advised on a couple of different routes there was to take, he also talked us though the different facilities and advised us to just text if we had any problems or questions which I found really helpful.
I read some reviews about the toilet facilities but to be honest I don’t know what all the fuss was about, we bought a camping toilet as I can be a bit uncomfortable using strange loo’s but the toilets were so clean that our camping loo is still in the box!! The sink and washing up area was also extremely clean.
We were able to have a bbq and hired a fire pit from the owners for £5 per night which i thought was very reasonable and we were able to bank transfer and the owner Jane brought it over to our pitch.
It is right on the A68 but this didn’t bother us in the slightest, yes when vehicles went past you could hear it but this didn’t disturb our sleep.
We went for a walk from the site down to Derwent Reservoir which took us about 1 hour to get there and there are plenty of picnic benches/grassy spots to sit.
Also me and my husband both had full phone signal (EE & Vodafone) which was a bonus.
