You’re guaranteed the warmest of welcomes at Hadrian’s Wall Campsite, a peaceful spot edging the spectacular Northumberland National Park in the Tyne Valley. And what else are you guaranteed? An equally friendly greeting for any accompanying dogs, great views from everywhere on site, quiet downtime for you and your family and – on clear nights – a multitude of stars twinkling in the heavens of this dark skies reserve. Here you can also wake up to birdsong, walk to Hadrian’s Wall in 15 minutes, complete sections of the Coast to Coast Cycle Route (C2C) or the Pennine Way, and get back to your pitch in time to catch colourful skies as the sun sets behind the hills. If you’d rather simply chill amid nature during the day, the site’s abundant wildlife makes it a great place for spotting hedgehogs, stoats and wild rabbits. Essentials are sold in the small site shop, along with tasty locally made biscuits, chutneys, jams and ice cream. A café opens in the morning and does a roaring trade in breakfast rolls made with sausages, eggs and bacon from the butcher in Haltwhistle, 10 minutes’ drive away – wash them down with Northumberland-roasted barista coffee and milk from a neighbouring farm. Spotless showers, a washing-up area, a fridge and freezer, and a laundry with washer and dryer complete the roster of on-site facilities.

喜欢: The setting, lots of beautiful scenery, wildlife, spotlessly clean facilities, well maintained site and friendly owners.
Nice quality breakfast roll and a useful little shop for necessities.

不喜欢: The late arrivals when you've just got settled for the evening as they allow check-ins Upto 8.30 and then then they have to get set up.

喜欢: Friendly and straight forward check in. Relaxed atmosphere. Good facilities. Easily accessible electric hookups.

Fantastic views and advice for things to do in the area. Very peaceful and beautiful place. Will be back again.

不喜欢: Shop was advertised as "cash preferred" which kept us from visiting as we only use card/contactless payment.

Not sure of reasoning behind it and had no impact on our stay. Probably ended up saving us money.

喜欢: Lay out of the site was fantastic, plently space on each pitch,lovely welcome from owner who showed me to my pitch.the facilities were brilliant clean and warm, there fridge and freezer is a great to put my cool block and milk in , breakfast from the cafe was lovely and very reasonably priced. Will definitely return either as a solo camper or with the kids if I can get booked as it's very popular! Also thanks to the owners for the jump start 😂

喜欢: Well positioned, clean, and very tidy site. Good toilets and showers - always clean. We had a large pitch with grass area and our own bench. Great for watching the sunset, listening to the birds, and enjoying the local area.

喜欢: This campsite is a beautiful place to stay, the owners are very happy to help with any queries.
My camping spot was great and just around the corner from the spotless toilets and showers.

喜欢: Absolutely stunning camp site , pitches are not on top of each other so you can enjoy some quiet time .
Dog friendly.
They have a small onsite shop, with breakfast available.
Washing up station and amenities are great .
Cleaned daily and you can tell they are maintained. Beautiful site

喜欢: Very friendly and helpful staff with nice and clean facilities, nothing bad to say about the place, brilliant walks from the site and an amazing local pub. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back.

喜欢: Truly excellent campsite. The pitch we had for our vw t5 and awning was huge. Hard standing for the van and grass for the tent. Plus loads of space for a picnic bench and clothes line. Surrounded by beautiful views. The facilities are very good. The owners Steve and Tra y are extremely welcoming and clearly love their site. We stayed two nights but could have stayed longer.

Many of Northumberland’s attractions are within easy walking or cycling distance; you can access both the C2C and the Pennine Way under five minutes away by car at Once Brewed, while the Northumberland 250 driving route, taking in the national park and the coastline, is about the same distance away. You are in pole position to explore Hadrian’s Wall too – it’s barely 15 minutes’ walk away, bringing with it stunning views over Northumberland’s wild fells and valleys. A trifecta of fascinating museums includes Vindolanda Roman Museum, where you can explore the remains of a Roman village; Housesteads Roman Fort – Vercovicium has sprawling relics from a hilltop fort; and the Roman Army Museum (all within 10 minutes’ drive) offers up immersive displays on ancient Roman life at Hadrian’s Wall. If the kids are rebelling against all that history, try them on the “Shaun the Sheep” art trail and the engaging wildlife exhibits at The Sill: National Landscape Discovery Centre (five minutes).
