Swallow Hall

喜欢: What a delightful campsite! The entrance sets the tone - that of peace and refinement passing down a hedged drive past the Swallow Hall Golf Course. There is a barrier with an entry code which you are given in advance and you can then select your pitch. The pitches are spacious and well defined on a flat, well cared for site. Woodland is at the end of the site with access for lovely walks which is perfect if you have dogs or just enjoy a quiet, tree-lined stroll. There is the “19th Hole” which provides food and refreshments during the day. The showers and toilets are excellent, impeccably clean with no button press to get water in the showers and the temperature is adjustable. There is a hairdryer available free of charge for those who are on non-electric pitches ( or, of course, electric pitches). Water is available at either end so is not far away and the sanitary disposal is good but needs to be checked more often because some caravaners seem not to know how to use it properly and there was detritus on the ground when we visited. Not the fault of the owner, who do their rounds twice a day to ensure that all is well. Swallow Hall is perfectly placed for access from the A1(M) and roads to York and Selby. There are supermarkets within a few minutes drive. Of course, the main attraction is York itself. Parking is not cheap but it has to be done and there is excellent provision for Blue Badge holders. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Swallow Hall, recommend it unreservedly and will certainly return.

Spotless facilities, lots of hot water
Beautiful area, very quiet.
Excellent food at the "Roost"
Staff very friendly and attentive.
Definitely stay again.
Idea location for visiting York.(10 mins from designer outlet with free parking and park n ride into York)

喜欢: The friendly owner greeted us on our approach to the site, gave us directions to the camping area and wished us a pleasant stay. Pitches were a generous size, the site was well cared for and the facilities were spotless. The owner was quick to offer a solution when we asked for an alternative pitch because of the wet soggy ground. He checked in with us to make sure we were ok, nothing was too much trouble….thank you for a lovely peaceful stay.

喜欢: This was an ideal location for a 15 minute drive into York City Centre, for me it ticked all boxes as we was able to stay in the touring field in our caravan, which had excellent showers and clean facilities, and I could have a round of golf every morning before we went sightseeing, so if you like your golf you wont be disappointed, which has driving/practice range, a practice hole, a 9 hole and an option to play a 12 and 18 hole round of golf, The owners work hard every day keeping this golf course in top condition. And if you choose you can follow it up a very generous portion for breakfast in the roost which was served by friendly staff. All staff members are very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. We had an excellent time and will definitely be returning.

不喜欢: the only downside is the gate shuts at 10pm so we had to make sure we was back in time.

喜欢: Nice peaceful surroundings lovely walks for our dog also nice golfing facilities. Shower block was very clean and warm pitch sizes was great and we got warm welcome from the owners who was very friendly

喜欢: Location is excellent, tranquil and peaceful.
The shower block is spotlessly clean and the clubhouse food is lovely.

不喜欢: No heating in the shower block.
The clubhouse is not open on an evening for meals.
