If you’re setting off to East Yorkshire in search of sea views… well, you’ve found them at Sea View Country Park. This site is just on the edge of the ancient hamlet of Mappleton, about five minutes’ drive south of Hornsea, and has views out over the North Sea coast. That location makes this family-run site a great spot for a bit of seaside relaxation – and there’s a beach about three minutes’ walk away too for those who’d like to get even closer. There's a car park by the beach and a concrete ramp leads down to the sands, so it’s accessible for less-mobile guests. Just past the beach entrance (about five minutes’ walk from the site) is a tea room serving home-cooked meals along with takeaway sandwiches for a picnic on the sands. As well as the beach just by the site, it’s not far to Hornsea, which has another lovely beach plus plenty of places to shop and eat (including an award-winning fish and chip shop). Elsewhere along the coast, you may like to visit other seaside towns like Bridlington, or look out for passing birds at RSPB Bempton Cliffs. Or, if you’re feeling particularly energetic, pick up the Pennine Trail which will take you all the way over west to the Irish Sea. Dogs and kids are welcome at this park, where facilities have been kept to the essentials to preserve a peaceful atmosphere. All of the spacious pitches have water and electrical connections, and there are modern shower and toilet blocks with baby changing facilities and disabled access. There is also a dog park where canines can let off steam.

喜欢: Immaculate site with great sea views. Pitch was level and all pitches have water and waste pipe.
Loved the dog park with picnic benches toys and water.
Lovely and friendly, we really enjoyed our stay.
Close to the beach, check the tide times as it comes right up to the cliffs.
We'll be back

喜欢: The park was very secure. Very easy when we arrived. We had a gravel pitch which had electric hook up. Plenty of room. The toilet/shower block was kept lovely and clean (and it always smelled nice!). Unfortunately the lock on the furthest toilet door in the ladies, didn't work so I was nervous using it. The park looked really new. Very well kept.

15 mins walk to beach
Beautifully lit up on a night
View of the sea and sunset is amazing.

不喜欢: Could do with a little shop on site.

We did pack up and leave a day earlier because of the wind, it’s really open.
We would have definitely stayed otherwise.

喜欢: Clean tidy site ,nice staff,quite an isolated location, not alot to do but if your after peace and quiet this is it ,we walked 10 minutes to the beach access then up the beach a mile or so ,walked vack via the village calling in the pub .
Lovely views .Would return again .

喜欢: Everything about the site and the staff. What a hidden gem.
Situated in a beautiful spot with sea views. Five mins walk to a stunning beach.
On site there's an enclosed dog area, full of toys etc.
On site the pitches are immaculate. Excellent shower block with really special personal touches. You can tell that the staff really care.
Lady on reception (blonde curly hair) such a bubbly character and so helpful throughout our stay.
Already booked to return in October

喜欢: Beautiful site, large pitches. We had a hard standing pitch with all amenities. Close by was the toilets and showers, 2 of each in the Ladies. They were always kept very clean. The showers were not push button showers and the water was hot. Washing up facilities with 2 sinks which was also kept very clean. They had a lovely dog exercise area which was great for my Pug to be let off for a run around. 5 min walk to the beach and also a lovely cafe. There was a pub selling food about a 20 min walk from the site too. I'd recommend this site.

喜欢: New site so has no character yet but the owner has clearly tried to set up a good touring park.
Main business probably the residential mobile homes!

不喜欢: A long way off the beaten track, had to detour via Hull both inbound and going North to Scotland when we left.

Start by heading up to Hornsea (five minutes’ drive) for a visit to the Hornsea Folk Museum, which has a Victorian farm kitchen, a dairy and a blacksmith’s shop, plus regular craft demonstrations (pottery, lace making and spinning among them). After that, you might like to take the kids to feed sheep and horses at the town’s Honeysuckle Farm or check out the creepy-crawlies at Bugtopia Hornsea Zoo. Or maybe it’s time for a peaceful picnic at Hornsea Mere, a popular spot for birdwatching, fishing and sailing. For a change of scenery, take a trip to Hull (25 minutes) to see all sorts of vintage transport displays at the free Streetlife Museum, where you can also ride an old tram through a reconstructed historic street, or learn about underwater life at The Deep aquarium. Burton Constable Hall & Grounds (15 minutes) is another nearby place that’s worth a visit for a stroll through Capability Brown-designed parkland, a tour of the art-filled house and a peek into the Cabinet of Curiosities.
