Fancy some downtime exploring rural Suffolk? The tree-shaded pitches at Hill Farm are in a peaceful setting near the historic town of Saxmundham, handily accessible from the A12 and close to Suffolk’s popular coastline. This is a site that welcomes families and groups of friends – and it's wonderfully dog-friendly too (there’s a four-acre woodland to the north of the site that's great for dog walking). The site has good TV reception for relaxing indoors on damp or chilly days. Raised gas-powered or charcoal/wood barbecues are allowed too (no ground or silver barbecues please), so you can keep warm and toasty while grilling up a barbecue feast. A pub in Darsham village is a five-minute drive away (or half an hour's walk along a farm track through the fields). The nearest shop is at the local petrol station, a few minutes' drive away (near to the Darsham train station). There's also a good local bakery a few minutes' drive away along the A12. The popular village of Westleton (10 minutes’ drive) has village stores, a farm shop, a garage and an art gallery. Back on site, there are several toilet blocks with hot running water, plus four showers. There is also a washing machine, grey waste and chemical toilet disposal and recycling.

喜欢 Lovely quiet site with excellent facilities and a helpful manager. We stayed for two nights and had a wonderful stay. Jaik was very efficient and helpful, going above and beyond to enhance our stay. Toilet and shower facilities were well signposted and were clean, with clear instructions for use. We had a great time.

喜欢 Jaik was a very helpful site owner and I don’t think I’ve ever seen such dedication from someone , cleaning the toilet area at 10pm last night to make sure it was clean for everyone.

Very accommodating to our needs ( we had a young dog and we was moved to a more suitable pitch to meet the dogs needs) , I highly recommend this campsite

喜欢 Small size, ample facilities, helpful host.
The size is easily accessible from the A12 but doesn’t suffer from too much road noise. Facilities all functioned, were clean and just a little quirky. Wonderful.

不喜欢 Not a whole heap. Decent site. Bring some 20p pieces if you want to shower.

喜欢 Very peaceful site. All amenities are close to pitch. The owner was very helpful and you can see he works really hard to keep things running smoothly. Pitch sizes are of a decent size and private enough. I noticed a few comments about road noise.... it really isn't that bad! There is not much around within walking distance but that suited us. We wanted a few quiet days away and that's exactly what we had. We will be returning again. Plus great value for money!

喜欢 Lovely little site. Friendly people and well kept, great facilities (although I only stayed one night and only my children used the loos). I was welcomed on site and helped to find my spot. No complaints from me.

喜欢 Nice, relaxed site. The owner was very nice and helpful. He moved us to a better spot due to tje soze of my van which was lovely of him. Toilets and shower were basic but very clean and functional. Great pub (the Fox) half an hours walk through the field opposite

喜欢 Lovely site with great facilities, flushing toilets and free hot showers 👌 right next to the pitch
No silly extras for dogs or awnings etc and fires are allowed 👍
Just a 20 minute drive from some amazing coastline and the food at the fox pub round the corner was outstanding

不喜欢 This is a quiet site with no music which was fine but not my preference

Hills Farm is an great base for exploring the Suffolk coastline, with indie boutiques in cobbled streets and restaurants on the pier in the cute seaside town of Southwold (15 minutes’ drive), and an extensive sandy beach backed by dunes at Walberswick (10 minutes). Aldeburgh (20 minutes) is home to famous literary and music festivals, plus bracing strolls on the pebble beach and a renowned fish and chip shop. There’s plenty of history in these parts too, with stately part-medieval Orford Castle (25 minutes) open for tours of its angular keep, and you can follow a spectacular walk around the walls at Framlingham Castle (20 minutes). The star of the show here, however, might just be the Anglo-Saxon burial ground and museum showcasing its priceless, golden finds at Sutton Hoo (half an hour). Getting out and about in glorious and unspoilt countryside is easy too, with boardwalks crossing the heathland at National Trust-owned Dunwich Heath and Beach (15 minutes). At the famous RSPB Minsmere coastal reserve (20 minutes), you have the chance to spot otters in reedbed pools, with rare bitterns and avocets nesting nearby.
