Liking the idea of a restaurant a few steps away from your tourer pitch? Your luck’s in at The Olive Tree Bistro Camp Site, found in the sweetly named Norfolk village of Little Snoring. Simply arrive, park up and decamp to the bistro fronting the pitches, and you’re all set for a relaxed meal of Mediterranean-inspired dishes and tapas sharing plates – accompanied by a decent list of wines and beers too. The bistro, closed on Mondays (except bank holidays), is popular so guests should book a table during busy periods. It's open between 11.45am and 8pm from Tuesday to Thursday and on Sundays; on Friday and Saturday, it's open from 11.45 am to 10pm. So, that’s food taken care of. What about the practicalities? Well, the site is a doddle to get to as it’s off the A148 between King’s Lynn and Cromer. Access is easy thanks to the width of the entrance gate, and the pitches are a mix of grass and gravel on a level field. Facilities are simple, stretching to a small toilet block with electric showers, a covered washing-up sink and drinking water on tap. On warmer days, you can eat outside at the picnic tables, and if you need more supplies of groceries, there are a couple of supermarkets in Fakenham (five minutes’ drive). The dog-lovers among you will be pleased to read that your pets are welcome on site too.

喜欢: Great little site which is adult only which we loved. It’s in an excellent location for exploring north Norfolk. Very friendly hosts and the Bistro has excellent food as well we ate there twice over the weekend. We would definitely stay there again if in the area.

喜欢: Pitches good food excellent and the owner and staff very welcoming . Very well kept grounds. Would have eaten a second night but I was unwell

不喜欢: Sorry but I did not like the so called shower block which is basically a shed . I know it is winter but the wet room stunk of damp even the toilet paper was damp. Yes, there was a heater but that was only warm when switched on really do not think it is suitable for the British climate

喜欢: Really lovely site nice and clean toilets and washing facilities. Camp owners were really lovely and very helpful.

不喜欢: The one thing that would put us off coming back again was the fact that the water in the shower was warm at best. I reported this to the Handyman who just said use the other shower which was just as cold so nothing really was done.

来自经理: Good morning I'm sorry that you felt that the hot water situation would make you not visit again, but after you raised the concerns I had a look at the shower and managed to get a real hot stream of water. in these cold days you only need to put the shower on full hot and slightly raise the control arm and that gives the system time to hot up. When I walked into the shower after you raised the issue the control was not on full hot this will be the reason for the lack of hot water. it does tell you on a notice in the shower how the system works.

喜欢: Clean site, large pitch with picnic table. Nice bistro and garden.

不喜欢: Shower was cold, glad to have the heater for dressing! One night stay sufficient unless you have a car to get around as on a busy road.

The site is well-situated for jaunts along the North Norfolk coastline. Popular beaches include Sheringham (25 minutes’ drive), good for rock pooling with the kids on its swathe of golden sand. Cromer (35 minutes) is the spot for watersports, food stalls and walks along the Victorian pier, while Salthouse Beach (25 minutes) is a dog-friendly pebbled expanse where you can sometimes spot egrets and marsh harriers. If the weather’s not looking so good, head straight for Thursford Steam Museum (five minutes), with a heady mix of gaily painted carousels, steam engines and barrel organs that should keep the kids happy for hours. When the clouds disappear again, you can get rid of any pent-up energy go-karting through woodland, tree climbing and completing obstacle courses at ExTREEme Adventure (20 minutes). If you fancy a bet, Fakenham Racecourse (10 minutes) has meetings all year round. And as horse racing is the sport of kings, perhaps you’d like to see how our present monarch lives? Take a trip to Sandringham Estate (25 minutes) to tour sumptuous apartments in the stately royal residence, and have a wander through parkland designed by Geoffrey Jellicoe in the 1940s.
