Surrounded by pretty Lincolnshire countryside, Aubourn Estate is a pop-up site in the grounds of the 17th-century Aubourn Hall, which has extensive gardens occasionally open to the public between April to October. Staying here also puts you close to historic Lincoln and lots of family activities including fishing, golf and a water park.
There’s plenty of room around the spacious, level and neatly mown camping field for families to kick a ball around. Stays here are also spot on for anyone wanting to enjoy peaceful walks around the Aubourn Estate’s 2,500 acres of farmland and woodland. Dogs are welcome too, so they can join in your daily perambulations, which may well lead you down to the pub in Aubourn village (five minutes’ walk), known for its delicious food and takeaways (closed Mondays).
Back on site, there’s a firepit and picnic benches for you to gather around and eat alfresco on warmer days. Other simple amenities include a portable toilet, chemical waste disposal and a supply of fresh drinking water, but there are no showers or electricity. This place is also strictly for guests who revel in the quietude of a rural village location – so no noise please between the hours of 10pm and 7am.
