喜欢 walks around historic sits (E.g. Longtown castle a 10-minute walk across fields). Pub serving food 15 mins away. John (site manager) was friendly and attentive, although once it started filling up, semi-chaos began to ensue, I’d suggest more than one person needed – E.g. the site was about half full Saturday evening, and people were coming back to find other campers pitched up in their sites. Another positive(?) is the site went quiet between 10-11 PM.

不喜欢 As mentioned by many of the reviews, only 2 men’s and 2 women’s toilets/showers. As soon as the site (half) filled up people were queuing. Probably not a good idea to put both shower and toilet in the same rooms.

I queued for the toilet sun morning and entered to find the shower curtain pulled off the wall, plentiful flies, and the toilet paper about to run out.

No chemical waste point, no bins/recycling bins that I could find. I assume the super expensive £110 I paid for 2 nights was for the view. £15 extra for my dog, which I didn’t bring due to concerns over the temperature, but no refund (I should point out I didn’t ask, so probs my fault)

I would note this is not a site if you want peace and quiet, but certainly a site if you want a group booking to get together with friends. We were pitched with campervan and tent in the centre but moved due to more and more groups arriving around us and hid down at the empty end of the site to watch the shenanigans unfold in the centre

– six tents of middle aged people with barking dog and very shouty children having mini disco, what appeared to be a hen party (somebody wandering about in a wedding dress?) over at one of the glamping tents having another mini disco (which I think John told them to turn down), teenagers playing football in an empty part of the site, and at about 4PM, I kid you not, a group of five hells angels rode in on motorbikes – although I should point out other than the motorbike arrival noise they were oddly quiet. So an eclectic mix – but as I say, the site went quiet between 10-11, so manageable.

All in all, if you want an amazing site location for walking/exploring, and large grass pitches and are fine with a bit of chaos, all good – although I’m still not quite sure why I was paying twice the going rate of a normal campsite to wait in a queue for fifteen minutes for a hells angel to vacate the toilet so I could have a shower.

喜欢 Beautiful well kept camp site , hosts are very attentive and was very knowledgeable with the local area.
Massive pitches that are level.
Would definitely stay here again.

不喜欢 Toilets in the showers , Would have preferred separates.

喜欢 If you’re looking for a camp site in Hereford this is the one you need to book! I booked with my family and we couldn’t have asked fora better location. The grounds were beautifully kept with amazing views of the mountain.

The pitch spaces you are given are huge.

The amenities were new, kept clean and fully stocked with toilet roll. I will be staying here again.

喜欢 The location near walking trails & places to visit, the generous size and level pitch, the welcome from John and the shallow river where the teenage kids played for hours.

不喜欢 The toilets & shower block only had 2 cubicles for women which meant we sometimes had to queue. If 2 people were using the showers there's no other toilet facilities, not great if you're desperate!
The toilets could also do with a more regular clean & topping up with toilet paper.

喜欢 John was very kind to wait for us to arrive, despite us getting lost and arriving over an hour late!

Field was soft, well tended and clean. Large plots clearly marked, and very well lit. Facilities were good, with space to wash up, as well as a really nice shower/toilet block (soap and hand towel included).

喜欢 Great view of the backdrop of hills, clean and quiet (except for one escapee sheep early in the morning!). Large campfire lit in the evening for a communal gathering. Stream nearby with a fun swing rope. Very flat so easy to camp or park up the van. Showers were super hot.

不喜欢 Bit pricey for just one person. Only one washing up sink, and toilets wash basin and showers were in one cubicle (only 2 per male/female), so can't imagine how it works when busy (I came when there was just a handful of campers so had no really issues).

喜欢 Gorgeous location, the site is spotlessly maintained and John (site manager) is wonderful!
Super wet room facilities, peaceful and so pretty all round.

喜欢 Beautifully presented area for camping, neatly cut grass with a hardcore drive lined with solar lights. There were four cubicles that contained a shower, toilet and basin. All well presented, clean and a good size. To the side of the shower block was a kitchen sink. The water in both the shower and kitchen sink was piping hot and had good water pressure. Our host, John, was very friendly and welcoming. There is a local shop and pub a short walk away. The village store, Hopes of Longtown, had a great selection of items and stocked lots of key items for camping, so you are sorted if you forget something.

不喜欢 Really struggling to find anything to dislike but maybe a suggestion for a small improvement. There were a lot of bins around the site, however when we left they were all full, so rubbish was sitting in bags around the bins. Maybe a few more bins or bigger bins, seems a shame to see litter in such a beautiful location. Note we were there on a bank holiday weekend so probably one of the busiest times.

喜欢 The setting amongst beautiful scenery, the lack of any road noise, the immaculate grounds, generous pitches and lovely atmosphere created by John, a super-friendly, warm & welcoming host. We also loved the little homely touches in the bathrooms and the fairy lights in the evening.

喜欢 Firstly, as many have mentioned, John the host. A bright, bubbly, chatty man who becomes everyone’s best friend. A real host and what makes the place so great from the start. Visited on the busiest weekend of the year but field never felt crowded. Great base for hiking or visiting local towns. Bit of a trek to get to from the main road but that’s the price of the peaceful surroundings. On the whole a well kept flat site.

不喜欢 The ‘wet room/toilet’ facilities seemed great but need some work. Floors slope the wrong way so you sometimes find yourself sloping out someone else’s used shower water before you step in!
Busy weekend so long queues to use facilities which got dirty quickly and ran out of toilet paper frequently. Could do with more and have separate toilets. Perhaps invest in a more substantial modern brick built shower block rather than a converted trailer?
