Set in a perry pear orchard on an organic cattle farm: that sounds almost poetic. As are the views from the spectacularly scenic little place of West End Farm Campsite, set in the horseshoe bend of the River Severn on the edge of the peaceful Gloucestershire village of Arlingham, and adjacent to the river with easy access to the footpaths of the Severn Way. A rather smashing pub is within easy walking distance too: the Red Lion freehouse (owned by the village, hurrah) with tiptop locally sourced food, real ale and regular events like quiz nights and folk nights – all just the ticket after a peaceful pedal or serene stroll along the river paths or region's quiet flat roads…? West End Farm has a toilet block and chemical disposal. Both barbecues and campfires are allowed on site.

喜欢: Peaceful location on organic farm with great walks. Facilities good and basic, very clean and everything that we needed. Short walk to the village and a good pub. The whole area is beautiful and well cared for. We’ll definitely return.

喜欢: Cows! Lots and lots of cows, including calves. Lovely clean facilities.

不喜欢: Given how gorgeous the local area is, shame there wasn't a view, hedge even stops a view of the cows from van. Also pricey for non electric pitch.

喜欢: Lovely peaceful small site situated in a small meadow next to grazing cows and calves
Spotless shower and toilet facilities
Well Spaced level pitches on hard standing or grass
Farm cafe nearby and local pub
Great location for walks and cycle paths
Would deffinatley stay there again and will fully recommend Thankyou pitch up 👍

喜欢: What a fantastic site very friendly very clean it was a great weekend everything you need a great pub within walking distance,serves excellent food not expensive,sunday dinners were amazing looking forward for our next stay on west end farm Amazing thankyou.

喜欢: Well spaced, fairly flat pitches, good walks from the site, nice local pub, easy set up (just wasn’t aware that it was a choose your own pitch, based on what you had booked)

不喜欢: Not really a dislike but for awareness there was no contact with the owners. Toilet and shower facilities ok

不喜欢: Showers are cold but water is warm enough very clean apart from freshly cut grass walked in

From M5, come off at Junction 13 and take the A38 towards Bristol. You will shortly see a garage on the left. Take the right turning signposted Frampton-on-Severn and continue to The Bell public house on the left. Pass through Frampton, continue straight over the canal bridge and go straight across (SP Arlingham and Fretherne). Do not follow the road to Saul. Continue for approximately 3 miles entering the village of Arlingham and turn left at Red Lion public house into Church Road. Pass the church on your right and West End Farm is on the right in about 250 yards.

当地景点

West End Farm Campsite's local village is Arlingham, also in the River Severn's horseshoe bend and just off Junction 13 of the M5. The area around the village is fab walking and cycling land, of public footpaths, riverside ambles and flat peaceful roads – all set among first-class mid-Wales scenery. (Don't know where to start? Ask at the Red Lion for details of their hare, salmon, cattle and skylark wanders.) A couple of miles from the farm is the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal, running between Sharpness and the old docks of Gloucester. It's a pleasant place to while away a few meandering hours, particularly around Patch Bridge, close to the Wildfowl Reserve at Slimbridge which has the world's biggest collection of captive wildfowl. Other local options are Berkeley and the Edward Jenner Museum, where the clever chap first figured out vaccination, and Berkeley Castle, where poor old Edward 2 met his grisly end. Gloucester Cathedral is nine miles from the site; a little further afield are the Norman castle of Goodrich and the Tudor National Trust-managed house of Newark Park.
