Lägg till din företagsinformationTake on not one, not two but three top tourist departments with a trip to Camping Les Étoiles, a leafy green site bordering the Dordogne, Corrèze and Haute-Vienne departments.
As well as using this shaded and peaceful park as a base for travelling around such scenic regions, guests settle in here under the trees for facilities including the regularly restocked fishing lake and heated swimming pool, and close proximity to Arnac’s castle, stud farm and the Hippodrome de Pompadour racecourse (all 10 minutes’ drive or less).
If equestrian activities aren't your chosen entertainment, the hiking and mountain biking trails running straight from site mean there are ample ways to explore, and more fishing’s also to be had in the nearby Corrèze, Vézère and Dordogne rivers.
Ahead of busy days out on foot or cycling, sample baked goods from the bread delivery service and prep a picnic with bits and bobs from the site’s small grocery shop. The free wifi may well come in handy for planning your routes before you leave for pastures new.
Other pursuits to have a go at locally include sailing, paintballing, climbing, archery and go-karting (ask site owners David and Sandrine how to source such activities); for more amusement, the park also has games for younger kids, a ping-pong table and a pétanque area.

Folk who hanker after a bit of horsey activity have come to the right place: it’s a five-minute drive to get to the races at the Hippodrome de Pompadour course, and about the same to Château de Pompadour, a swish 15th-century pad that’s also home to the national stud farm – time visits here cleverly to coincide with equine shows or to coo over new foals.
If it’s the château itself that’s more your taste, plan to take outings to some of the other fine historic offerings nearby: Château de Comborn and Château de Bonneval are both around 25 minutes’ drive away, and it’s around a 15-minute drive to the hilltop castle and half-timbered houses of Ségur-le-Château. For an insight into local industry you might want to pop the Papeterie De Vaux paper mill (15 minutes’ drive) and Savignac-Lédrier’s forge (20 minutes) on the list too.
A fab place to get your fill of fresh air locally is the Vézère gorges (half an hour) – hikes, mountain biking, rock climbing and kayaking are all excellent ways to see some of the stunning scenery here.
