Camping Les 2 Lacs is between (you’ve guessed it) two lakes, near Beauville in Lot-et-Garonne, in a green and scenic setting within day trip distance of Bordeaux to the northwest and Toulouse to the south. Arrive here for watersports, angling, swimming, lazing on the lakeside beach, and – also rather fab – bouncing around on the floating trampoline set up on the water. There's also a designated area where dogs (with their companions) can walk and swim freely. One of the lakes is set up for swimming and the other for fishing, and you can use the site canoes and kayaks for free. The seven-acre fishing lake is full of carp (from five to 18kg), pike-perch, perch, pike and roach, but it's also possible to catch catfish, trout and pike-perch in the surrounding rivers. Stay by the water to tuck into meals at the brasserie right in front of the swimming lake, where you can pick from a varied menu stuffed with local cuisine. You’ll need to plot sticking around here as night falls too, as the brasserie is the venue for the summer entertainment, watching events on the big screen, and nattering with other guests. A couple of options are around on terra firma: there’s a sports courts and games room at your disposal on site, and cycling and hiking on the local trails are popular picks in the surroundings. A swimming pool and paddling pool are among the other on-site facilities if you yearn for yet more water. A grocery shop, pharmacy, tourist office, restaurants and a traditional Sunday market are a few minutes’ drive away in Beauville.

Pêche fritidshus 2 sovrum

Tyckte om: We stayed in the chalet de peche which is situated right on the fishing lake and is away from the main camping area. Brilliant location for peace and fishing. Our boys were able to catch common, mirror and grass carp. Lots of wild life. We even had our own rowing boat! The kayaks are free to use and there are life vests although we took our own.

Tyckte inte om: The accommodation is looking a bit tired and an oven or grill would have been very handy. There are 4 ring burners and a microwave. Take your insect repellent for mosquitos. There are hundreds of shield bugs/stink bugs who whilst harmless, love to share your accommodation, given half a chance.

Tyckte om: Clean, quite and friendly. Kids loved the swimming lake with the inflatables, and really enjoyed using the kayaks and paddleboards (all free to use in the pitch fee). Facilities were spotless and showers were warm!

Tyckte om: We found Les 2 lacs whilst travelling to Spain. What a hidden gem this place is. Booked for one night and stayed three.

Peaceful & idyllic with a huge pitch for our campervan, you could fit 2 or 3 in the space.

The pictures don’t do it justice, with excellent washing facilities, regularly cleaned. Small park for the children, lots of outdoor sports equipment & all free to use.

Two lakes, one for fishing and one to have fun, either kayaking, paddle boarding or playing on the inflatable trampoline in the middle of the lake.
We had such a laugh making use of this and again all free!

A lovely restaurant overlooking the lake and scenery, either have a meal, sit and have a few drinks or just enjoy the peace.

We will definitely return if we come this way again.

Channel your walking self or hire a bike on site to cycle off along one of the many hiking and cycling trails crisscrossing the area. If you’re feeling Very Active Indeed, you could bike the couple of hours to Agen for a hefty (fully deserved) lunch in one of its restaurants or cafés: the ride should only take a couple of hours, although no such promises should be made about lunch. Local village Beauville is a right pretty spot for photos, high on a hill overlooking a stunning valley covered by sunflower plantations; clap your eyes on the scenery over a coffee and pastry at the café in the main square. For a scenic ramble minutes away, follow the Chemin des Remparts path around the outside of the Old Town, for more splendid views of the countryside as well as glimpses of Beauville’s 13th-century defensive walls. If you fancy even more water via boat trips to explore the region, book one on the Garonne, the Lot or the Canal du Midi: ask the site team for tips.
