Pitch up at Park Farm Caravan and Camping for pitchside campfires galore plus piles of spectacular wide open space around which to cycle, fly kites and let the kids (and dogs) run wild. Set on a farm in a peaceful rural spot on the border between Kent and East Sussex, this site is bordered by a little river and surrounded by miles upon miles of handsome countryside; for days out off site, the swell little seaside resort of Camber Sands is a handy half an hour’s drive away, and attractions like the Kent and Sussex Railway, Bodiam Castle and Bedgebury Pinetum are within a short drive too. Back at base, there’s heaps of stuff to keep guests of all ages amply amused all day long, like free fishing into the neighbouring river direct from the site. For kids there’s a partially fenced adventure playground with a trim trail, a play fort and a big slide for small folk to let off steam at. For rainy day, the open-sided barn is furnished with more fun-based bits, like a seesaw and other kit and games. When peckish or thirsty head over to the site's café and bar – The Camp Stove Kitchen – for delicious food and drinks (perhaps even a cheeky cocktail…). Otherwise, head to the neighbouring pub for a feed or an afternoon pint of guest ale. After a feed, it’s a splendid idea to have an amble around the farm to – the site owners actively maintain natural habitats to keep local wildlife happy, so while out and walking around one might well catch sight of some native critters too, from deer, barn owls and lots of other bird species to plenty of butterflies and insects.

Tyckte om: Great site, loads of space and loved that the park was so big. Really well catered to for all age ranges. Showers were great too.

Tyckte inte om: No wifi anywhere, nice to switch off but made searching for local things and directions tricky.

Tyckte om: It was clean spacious. Clean toilets shower blocks. Love the bar in barn. The little cafe/ shop was brilliant the guy who runs it was a absolute gent and the lady who cooks so nice and genuine., felt very welcomed. Close to lots of amenities lots to do within walking distance and by car. Kids loved the play area lots of room for them to run around. Love the rule no music after 10pm means your not being kept awake.

Tyckte inte om: Lack of signage as to where to go when you arrive as noone was in the booth at entrance when we arrived ( 145pm ).
Wifi a bit hit and miss but not end of world.

Tyckte om: Very well kept site and very friendly. The facilities were clean and the water hot,. Lots of on site facilities cafe and bar. We originally booked in for one night, but decided to come back for a second night, Misty the site warden very efficient and welcoming. Quite nights sleep on both nights. Certainly will use this site again.

Tyckte om: A very well managed and maintained site with good on site facilities. The pitches are a generous size so your not too crowded. The site is in a beautiful and peaceful location. Campfire are allowed, but at your responsibility. My children loved the play area and the on site WW2 pillbox which added a bit of adventure play.

Tyckte om: Beautuful, autumnal landscape in a virtually deserted tent field. Priced per person rather than per pitch, which is more affordable for solo travel. Great pub nearby. Gents toilets were very clean.

Tyckte inte om: The site felt like it was already closed for the season - check in booths, shop, cafe etc were all closed. Check in was at someone’s personal static caravan, accessed via a muddy path. The chap was friendly and was most concerned I didn’t park where I’d get stuck in the mud, so I ended up in the middle of a field with two wheels on the road. It is a large site and I wasn’t shown or told where any facilities were. I couldn’t find the ladies, so used the gents, which were clean. Also couldn’t find the showers or bins. If there was wifi, I wasn’t given a code, so can’t comment on it.
There were lots of older caravans that gave the impression people maybe lived in them long term.
It all just felt quite run down and like I’d arrived during the closed season when there shouldn’t have been guests staying at all.
Only stayed for one night, and a good explore would have helped me find everything, but I wouldn’t have wanted to stay longer anyway.

Tyckte om: Friendly staff, great place to rest with family. We’ve all enjoyed the stay however it’s a shame that there is not another, smaller playground closer to the end of the land so the kids could stay closer to us and play.

Tyckte inte om: No hand towels in toilets although there are holders instilled. It would be helpful if the toilet would have light inside.

The plentiful paths that lie around the site also link up with other local footpaths, like the one that runs beside the river to Bodiam Castle, about 20 minutes’ amble away. At Bewl Water you can go sailing, canoeing, windsurfing and cycling, or you can head to the shingle stretches at Camber Sands for windsurfing and jetskiing at Cooden beach near Bexhill. If angling’s more your sort of water-based pursuit, fish free of charge for chub and roach from the site, or head to the nearby fish farm. For a spot of local history, visit National Trust properties like Sissinghurst Castle, Cranbrook, Smallhythe Place, Scotney Castle and Batemans; should you instead fancy being ferried around, get all aboard at Bodiam for the Kent and East Sussex Railway.
