The eggs were delicious!

It’s such a spacious campsite and in a great area / close to shops etc and also has shade from trees close if needed so you aren’t forced to constantly be in the sun

Loved that the animals came to say hello to us all and were really friendly

Tyckte inte om The price is higher than other campsites I’ve stayed at which are at a similar basic level to this one but I guess you are paying for the location of the Lake District?

Tyckte om The camp site was lovely, clean, with lots of space for running around. Its peaceful and not too busy making it ideal. I would 100% recommend it and will definitely be going back again.

Tyckte om Loved this site, loved Robin the pig and all the other animals! Was lovely and quiet and the fresh eggs are lovely! We will definitely be visiting again! Unlimited pitch size so we were able to spread out and have plenty of room!

So handy being 5 minutes to supermarket saved us taking all our food with us

Very little flat space - not a problem for me as I could pick anyone the flat bit at the bottom of the slope as it was so quiet.

Only one festival style portable chemical toilet. No running water. No mobile signal, although this seemed to be the case in thd town too.

Walked to Local pub to find they don't do food on Sunday evenings. Found a good chip shop in town about 25 mins walk from the site. Nothing much else any closer.

Tyckte om As description makes clear this is a peaceful no frills campsite. Plenty of space when I visited. A lot of the site slopes but there is a large flat area also. The portaloo was clean, the washing up area under a lean-to perfectly serviceable (cold water). I was surprised you have to bring drinking water, but no problem at all. A couple of shelves by washing up had bottled water, firewood and firelighters, all at reasonable prices. Help yourself to fire pits- there seemed to be 4 or 5 available when I stayed. 20mins stroll to M&S/Aldi etc, 10mins up a lovely footpath to locals pub (no food when I was there). Site owner very friendly and helpful. I had to move my booking around and he was very pleasant and helpful about it. Thanks!

Tyckte om I loved the site it was nice and relaxing few days away with my children. My son loved being able to feed the animals and when I ran out of gas the farmer was more than helpful in getting me some replacement gas canisters I will definitely be going back again
