От менеджера: Hi Robert, we’re glad you found our little piece of heaven in rural France. It is worth the journey, yes. The area is beautiful no matter what time of the year. The roads can be, very occasionally, narrow, if you go the wrong route. We have hundreds and hundreds of competent drivers who happily navigate those roads without complaint, so I’m sorry you personally felt it somewhat overwhelming for you. Maybe in the future read the directions better in advance instead of blindly following a GPS…..

I am, however, quite saddened by your other comments and review.

Firstly, you booking and paying 26 instead of 15 is not my error, that is yours. I can not do anything about your error. It’s different companies. PitchUp and ACSI ARE DIFFERENT BUSINESSES. You want the discount that ASCI offers then don’t book through a different business. I am sick and tired of idiots complaining and leaving bad and stupid reviews because they are morons. You see the price when you book!!!! Now you’re complaining you’ve paid too much!!!! I can’t help you for being stupid and you leaving me a bad review because of your own stupidity is simply… well… stupid again! There’s nothing more to say other than maybe Google should start incorporating IQ TESTS.

Secondly, your personal comment that there are codes everywhere and it is complicated is a lie. There are only two codes … one for the sanitary block and one for the elsan which are the SAME code. Thats it. Also, the code to the sanitary block is open 90 percent of the time anyway as hundreds of previous customers will agree.

Unfortunately for you, this review hasn’t revealed much about our business and a lot more about you that I don’t think you wanted people to know.

I’m tired of dealing with stupid people leaving stupid reviews. Stupid for not making the right reservation and moaning that we are the cause. Stupid.

Ok let’s have a quick recap…. You blindly followed a gps rather than the actual direction available to you, you booked via Pitchup (willingly and knowingly), then complained you’ve didn’t get the discount which is actually offered by a DIFFERENT COMPANY and finally you found using a 5 digit code, which we give you on a printed paper, to open two doors, beyond your capability - just in case you were wondering which I’m using the word stupid a lot in this reply.

Понравилось We stayed one night in this small lovely and quiet campsite. Nice views and has everything you need. Well stocked shop and bar/restaurant used by locals. We will most definitely be back.

Понравилось Small campsite with natural feel - lots of trees. Great shop and can order bread and pastries. Good restaurant. Friendly staff. Hot showers with normal taps. Toilets with seats. Pretty location with good walks and cycle routes nearby.

Не понравилось Hookups were a long distance from pitches.

Just a little note… when booking in we do advise guests to make sure they have cable long enough to reach electrical outlets.

Guests are allowed to choose wherever they like. Generally half the pitches need a ten foot cable, the rest up to a 20 foot cable and if you ask any of our lovely staff we can and will happily supply you with an extension so you can reach your desired spot.

Не понравилось A little unloved / scruffy. In the men’s only 1 out of 3 showers working properly (although it was one of the best showers I’ve encountered on a site). 1 out of 2 urinals working. Just needed some TLC.

We are very happy you enjoyed our restaurant, you are the first of a very few who have experienced our amazing new chef and his creations for the new year ahead. He has taken loved, classic dishes and made them even more magical and delicious. We are incredibly happy with him and to have found a true gem finally. We are already salivating to see what other wonderful creations he has under his marvellous chefs hat.

Our campsite has had little ups and downs this year, with wet weather and machinery issues, a lot of sites across France have suffered with the unusually wet year, so on behalf of us and them we apologise for a little scruff around the edges. I will add though, we are English owned, but we aren’t English obsessed with straight lawn lines and precision box hedges. We prefer nature as nature should be, with being in one of the most rural and beautiful areas of France, winning many awards for it, we will continue to go 30/70 in natures favour. We just simply much prefer what the butterflies and birds etc… have to offer than an unnatural, institutional look and feel. I’ve personally been to camp grounds mowed to death, that are less camping, more just soulless parking areas where you’re told where to camp by unfriendly, mini-me-wannabe-military, humourless staff. No nature, no real camping, no real outdoors feel. We’ve been advised many times over the years to concrete more areas, to tarmac more, to cut down 100 plus year old trees, to install mobile homes and generally destroy nature. We said no and have been happy to do so.

Regarding showers, as I have mentioned to a previous guest, we are at the end of yet another busy season and all the love, care and attention is coming in November when it is planned every year after staff holidays and it finally quietens into winter. Being a campsite and shop and restaurant open all year round our maintenance schedule differs from the majority of French sites as they usually close October to April. We do do it differently here and we’re pleased to say it’s worked very well as our awards confirm.

Thank you again for staying with us, hopefully you do return and you can then use all our new sanitary block upgrades to your hearts content. Take care and annoy your camping adventures.

Facilities a little dated but functional.
Very quiet..can order bread and croissant hot and ready at 8am.

We had a very good 3 course lunch and coffee for 27 euro

Не понравилось Did not find grey water drainage spot.
A fair way off track.

Понравилось Large pitches, well stocked onsite shop and fabulous restaurant/bar serving delicious food. Scenic cycle route along the canal.

Понравилось Location, fantastic scenery and right by the river and beautiful villages..
Quiet site.. lovely restaurant and bar. Shop was amazing too very well stocked and fresh baguette in the morning..
Friendly owner and staff…

Не понравилось Shower/toilet blocks could do with an update… luckily i was staying off season but id imagine there could be a wait if its busy…

We do go out of our way to make guests feel as relaxed and as comfortable as possible, thank you for your kind comments.

Regarding our shower/toilet block "aging gracefully" like one guest kindly commented, as we all like to think we are, has it's upgrade/make-over at the end of each year. New showers, taps and lippy etc... are already in storage waiting for Dec/Jan. Throughout the year it does have it's fare share of visitors and it's done us very proud over the last ten years we have been here, it's especially a poke in the eye when people - "who said it would never work" have had to watch us grow VERY successfully more and more each year to their embarrassing chagrin. It's been very much like Marmite, love it or hate it, it works somehow and its quirkiness has become popular and loved, in particular the self contained cubicles where you are simply left alone to do your own thing, no shuffling like miserable cattle from one stall to the next trying to start your day - You're simply in and out and ready to go, ready to roam this beautiful land.

Your concern regarding when we're busy it may cause a wait? Very occasionally, yes, when everyone decides to shower at the same time, but having a little patience and remembering this is camping and not an en-suite room at the Ritz helps with perspective. Plus great news we no longer allow a busy campsite, we prefer a quieter life. We rarely take non-reservations now, so everyone be warned, lol.

I notice your headline for your review is you suggest people to bring a bike, yes, we are roughly 30 minutes (depending on how fast you drive, this is France!) from the city - hoorah! Our camping is very quiet and peaceful. Cycling is hugely popular here, with thousands of return guests every year, enjoying the endless cycle routes flat and a little more testing for the more ambitious/masochistic! Research beforehand is always key to visiting places where ever you holiday - it simply makes the experience better.

It's all one big adventure!

Понравилось A lovely friendly site. Excellent pitches and a well stock shop. We arrived on the Monday so unfortunately never got to try the restaurant. Shower and toilets all excellent. Probably the best wifi we’ve had on a campsite. Would definitely return.

Понравилось A great friendly welcome. Lovely quiet site. Shop, restaurant and bar on site. Menu looked very interesting but unfortunately chef was ill the night we had booked so will need to return again.
