Gostou The food in the pub was really good and the staff were very professional.

Não gostou It is clearly pointed out during the booking process that there is no on site showers which isn't a problem but we had assumed there would be a toilet accessible that didn't require going into the pub. Again this didn't cause us an issue but what did cause an issue is the lack of control between pub customers and the camping area, when we left the pub after our meal, what seemed to be a local regular in his land rover had parked next to my campervan within my designated pitch meaning I couldn't wind the awning out if I wanted to.

Gostou Lovely, spacious, quiet site, beside a great country pub. Excellent food. Staff very friendly and helpful. A lovely relaxing break. Our second stay...there will be more.

Review of Wheatacre White Lion Caravan Park & Pub

I booked a night at the caravan park here for £25 through Pitchup.com while visiting an old Navy shipmate I hadn’t seen in over 40 years. Thankfully, only a £3 deposit was taken, because I didn’t end up staying.

On arrival I parked my campervan and tried to hook up to the electric supply, which was literally held together with gaffer tape. Unsurprisingly, it didn’t work. That set the tone.

We went into the pub hoping for a relaxing drink and a meal while catching up. My shipmate’s drinks were poured, but when I asked for a menu, I was abruptly told they were “fully booked” and the earliest we could eat would be 8pm. This was at 4pm, and the pub did not appear busy. I declined my drink and switched to a Coke as I knew I’d be driving away shortly.

The young girl behind the bar was very rude, and what made matters worse was that senior staff were standing nearby and did nothing to offer a compromise. Even a small gesture could have saved the situation, but instead they lost what would have been around £100 of our business.

All in all, it was a very disappointing experience — inhospitable and poorly managed. Thankfully, I found somewhere else to stay with friendly staff and an excellent meal, and the pitch there was free if I ate on site.

Rating: 0/10. I would not recommend this place unless major improvements are made.

Não gostou Online it says that there are pub toilets and a toilet block on site … however to our disappointment there were no toilets on site and the only ones we could use were the ones inside of the pub (Closed at 10.30pm) With 3 children if we had have known we may have reconsidered somewhere else.
The food from the pub that we ordered was burnt, we didn’t say anything because with 3 children waiting so long for our food it would have made the wait time longer / to rectify and they was getting impatient.
The children’s meals also came out on a very hot plate which was too hot for husband and I to pick up so placing them in front of children of 13, 10 & 1 year was not the best idea.
We then paid cash, 20 minutes later no change… We had to ask for the change.
‘Free’ Wifi did not reach outside to our pitch.

Não gostou Laid out site is quite tight, especially when camper park close and leave no space to site out, luckily only stayed one day

Gostou Nice sized pitches, in a great location for the Broads and various beachs.
Quiet country setting.
Was greeted warmly by a nice lady behind the bar on our arrival, was able to select our pitch, which we did.
Not enough bins and only recycling bottles, not paper or plastics.
Towards the end of stay we decided to eat in the pub, as we'd been told that the food was really good. We went in at 6pm to a supposed dog friendly pub, we understood we couldn't use the restaurant. When we entered a lady was having a rather heated discussion on the telephone. My partner stood at the bar and I went and sat at a vacant table, when she finished on the phone, she came from behind the bar and rudely told me "you can't sit there, I have to put these tables together" a kind gentleman on the other side of the pub, said we could have his table and she promptly told me "i couldn't sit there either" so rude, the way she spoke to us. There was no reserved sign on either table. There's not enough dog friendly seat if you want to dine. She did say we could come back later ! as if we would. Wont be returning.

Não gostou The attitude of the lady (i use the term loosely) in the pub. It soured our stay, and we'd been welcomes so nicely by the lady who booked us in and served use to drinks that afternoon.
Also, a few large pot holes as you pull into the site

Gostou Lovely looking site and pub, food was lovely at a reasonable price, live entertainment was very good and enjoyable, lovely atmosphere all round, nice country walks.

Não gostou No dislikes, would be good to have a toilet available 24/7 however we knew this before we booked so went prepared.
