Reedham Ferry Touring and Camping Park

Gostou We were almost hypnotised by the gentle sound of the trees and reeds blowing in the breeze. The site was very relaxing; rural and attractive. It’s right next to the ferry. This was an adventure to take at high tide; with limited clearance on the ramp!
We needed to use our blocks.
The showers and toilets are clean.
The Ferry Inn is next door and serves nice food. It felt like a lovely bonus. There are more pubs along the banks of The Yare. Reedham village is a short walk away and has a fish and chip shop (cooks in beef dripping) and a small grocers. The best thing about it is its railway station with a very efficient service (every two hours) to Norwich (or Lowestoft). You can be in Norwich inside 20 minutes.

Não gostou The unreasonably steep and uneven steps up to the shower block; its wobbly handrail and the fact that the security light cuts out when you reach the steps. You need your own torch visit the loos.
The shower block is dated. The washing up area is very tired and difficult to maintain clean.
The site is not suitable for disabilities.
Basically, the site could use some money on it to clearly mark the pitches, improve the paths and update the facilities. It’s a busy enough site to justify some investment.

Gostou Great location. Stayed 4 nights and walked, kayaked and cycled.
Very busy site. But everyone respected the 10pm quiet time.
Lots of space for non electric pitches.
Toilets clean but dated.

Não gostou We arrived mid week and the site was quiet. But by Friday afternoon it was pretty much full. Some of the electric pitches were well laid out with lots of space in between. We were very lucky with ours. But others such as pitches 1 to 6 we're cramped especially as most on these pitches had a caravan, awning and car!
I really think it could do with defined areas for pitches. Some campers were pitching right next to other campers. Definitely not respecting the 6m rule.
Toilets were very run down. But clean.

Gostou Lovely quiet campsite site next to a nice pub that does great food Wednesday to Sunday. Clean toilet/shower facilities. Beautiful walks nearby, and the small ferry next to the campsite adds character.

Não gostou The water pressure for the drinking water was really high on all the taps so kept getting soaked!

Gostou The location was great. Literally a minute walk to the ferry and the broads. Pub/restaurant there as well. Nice clean toilets and showers. Lots of great walks. The village is about a 45 minute walk. The village is lovely again with two pub restaurants. The Ship pub in the village has plenty of parking space so we could park when we went for dinner. Fishing lake available for guests to use with good amount of swims.

Não gostou Disliked the chap cutting the grass at 9.30 almost nudging us off our pitch before 11am. Realise it has to be done but made it uncomfortable. Ran out of Sunday lunches in the Reedham Ferry pub by 2.30 even though we had a table booked for 3pm so went and had an excellent roast at The Ship instead.

Não gostou Mens showers need some work as all the plaster is falling off . Was not told that there was a power failure as showers where cold .

Gostou Location was great with a pub located at the entrance of the campsite alongside the broads. We booked a non electric pitch which was further along than the electric pitches . On arrival, if you have booked a non electric pitch you can choose your own pitch which was a bonus .
Generous size Pitches and are fairly level . We enjoyed a drink at the pub on the terrace beside the water and watched the chain ferry crossing the broad with numerous boats cruising along , a lovely way to spend time relaxing in the sun with a couple of cold beers ! The staff in the pub were so friendly too . There is a fishing lake on site if you fancy a spot of fishing and footpath to enjoy a walk along the broad . Will definitely stay again if we came back to Norfolk.
