Super views and super skies – there’s plenty to look forward to at Dysynni Valley Campsite, a basic and dog-friendly site at the foot of Cadair Idris in Eryri National Park (Snowdonia). Surrounded by mountains, this wildlife haven overlooks the lush green slopes of Dysynni Valley, and it also has excellent stargazing under an unpolluted night sky. If you fancy the sound of this kind of mountain retreat, some top things to note about the site are the views, the dark skies and the conveniences on site – such as clean, well-maintained shared bathrooms, clean drinking water and waste disposal to keep the place clean and eco-friendly. Next to the farmhouse, there’s a shared patio space with wifi too. More focused on adventure opportunities? Dysynni Valley Campsite has direct access to the Llanfihangel y Pennant path, one of three routes up Cadair Idris. The three mountain trails are suitable for different skill levels, whether you’re aiming for the summit or just a casual walker. The Minffordd Path goes to the summit for views of the national park and coast, passing by woodlands, streams and Lyn Cau, a glacial lake. Just a short drive away is the Dysynni Valley walk too, a moderate trail that follows the river through the countryside. It stops off at Craig Yr Aderyn, where peregrine falcons and chough are sometimes spotted.

Gostou: The setting in the midst of gorgeous countryside. An excellent situation.
Walks available direct from campsite.
Dog friendly.
Simplicity on a small site.

Não gostou: No visit from site owner.
After rain the stream running by the site turned into a very loud torrent, so sleeping was disturbed.
After rain the grass track to the pitches became muddy, rutted and too eventually too slippery for car to traverse.
Rubbish and recycling could be better organised

Gostou: Laid back, relaxed site. Help yourselves to a pitch, stunning scenery, considerate guests and beautiful stream to camp alongside. No washing up room or showers (as advertised) but price reflects this. Toilet stopped flushing so I text owner and he came straight away to fix it. Recommend!

Não gostou: Not a massive grass area for kids to play games, but mine were happy to explore the stream and walking paths instead.

Gostou: Very peaceful, lovely views and friendly host. Near to water tap. Toilet clean and hot water available in sink.

Não gostou: Site a little bumpy and sloping in places

Gostou: Me and my partner absolutely loved the whole experience from start to finish!! the stream topped it off and we had the best weekend we had in a long time! Closest to wild camping you can get, the farm family were super lovely and helpful! Loads of walks and beautiful views! Defo be going back 100% :) loved it! Thank you for letting us stay!

Gostou: Everything. From the mini waterfall right on the site, to the beautiful views and animals. A perfect, quiet, secluded, cheap little last minute getaway for my husband, myself and our daughter! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the peace and quiet was absolutely blissful. Exactly what we was looking for.
To get away from the hussle and bustle of city life.
I could have stayed for life!
