Loch Ness Highland Resort

Gostou Quiet site, friendly staff and only a short walk into Fort Augustus. Lovely area for walks around Loch Ness and the Caledonian Canal. There wes a gym and restaurant on site but we didn't have time to use them.

Não gostou The toilet and shower block was very poor, only 4 toilets and only 2 were working, only 3 showers and only 2 were working, it was quiet when we were there but there are 32 available pitches so not enough facilities also the toilets were not in a building just a shed with a veranda so not warm.

Gostou Good-sized motorhome pitch and friendly staff. The location is ideal for exploring the area around Loch Ness.

Não gostou However, the site facilities are below standard for a park of this size. The toilets and shower blocks really need a full refurbishment — they felt more like temporary facilities. For such a large and well-located site, I would have expected better amenities. Not the best phone signal and the is no WiFi available

Gostou Lovely place really disappointing that after storm Amy the site had no water no electric and no mobile phone service but we managed but they never even offered any discount or treat very sad

Facilities ok but felt they had been rushed like a last minute thought- random towels left hanging, low hot water pressure in shower.
Most expensive site we stayed on.
Just feels that site is aimed at holiday homes and statics and that touring has been a last minute thought thrown together to 'tide them over' till they all sell.
Shame as so much more could be done

Gostou Close to Fort Augustus (10 min walk) which was a lovely little town. Nice Chinese Takeaway/Restaurant.

Não gostou This site is still being developed although it doesn't state this on the website. We were disappointed with the very basic facilities and the fact that they are unisex. You walk straight into the shower cubicle or toilet from a wooden verandah. No heating or hairdryers and no lighting on the main site at night. The site is huge and covered in hardcore. They have planted a hedge between the pitches but these will take several years to mature. The restaurant was closed. For the price charged it wasn't worth the money and we would avoid going there again unless they offered pitches at a lower price during the site development stage.

Gostou Wat a fantastic spot. The hot shower was very welcome and the rest of the facilities are to a high standard too.

We found it a very quiet location to stay at.

Gostou Good central base for town centre.

Surrounding scenery spectacular.

Não gostou You’re parked up in a large gravel pit.

The park itself beared no resemblance in reality to the picture posted on the online website.

Overpriced for the amenities on site.

Was found to be scruffy and look unfinished.

There is no WiFi access on the site which didn’t bother as we have a
Vodafone gigacube.

However your in a gully surrounded by mountains therefore no reception at all we only had one bar 3G on our iPhone & it was a hit or miss.

Sadly had issues with the electricity power point. We never had any other appliances on other than a blow heater an oil fuels radiator, went to put kettle on an it all blew! Lost track how many times it tripped to the point we had to call the park warden. The chap was very friendly and responsive. Was intimated to us that it may have been the blower. On checking it was only 220v ??? We explained that we are ardent travellers and have never had troubles,it was the norm for us to have a few appliances on in the caravan. Don’t know how or why but the electrics did go back on thankfully !

We found the Toilet block unhygienic.

Male & Female share the same block.

For the size of the site this is the only toilet block. 3 showers,3 Loos.

On showering the water pressure is temperamental and fluctuates between freezing to luke warm.

The cubicle we used was littered with dirty hand towels. Paper towels being used as toilet paper. Pubic hair on loo seats an hand basin.

Shower cubicle was a combo of black and green mould. All the dirt & hair laying on the cubicle floor from previous users.
