View from our kitchen window - our little boy loved to see the tractor!

Surrounded by the woods and heathland of Hampshire’s New Forest, the snug static caravan at Home Farm, five minutes’ drive from Ashurst, makes a handy springboard for woodland adventures on foot or by bike, and family days out at theme parks (Peppa Pig, anyone?) or wildlife attractions. Sleeping accommodation for up to four people is in two comfy bedrooms with ample storage space, plus there’s a bathroom with hot water on demand – just what’s called for after a day out exploring the New Forest. As well as cosy seating, the sitting room also has a log fire to ensure you all stay toasty on lazy nights in front of the TV. The well-equipped kitchen has with most things you need to keep everyone shipshape and well fed, including a washing machine, oven, microwave and fridge, with all utensils and cutlery provided. Tea and coffee are also supplied for your morning caffeine fix. If you need to stock up, source all the basics in Ashurst shops (keep an eye open for wild New Forest ponies wandering around) – and if cooking is off the agenda completely, the village has a choice of pubs and takeaways too. There’s parking by the side of the caravan in a secure, enclosed space, and decking out front for soaking up the peaceful views on warmer evenings. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, but as the caravan is on a working farm, please keep them on a lead when on site (and clean up after them too).

Gostou: We were warmly welcomed.Spacious and comfortable mobile home. Enjoyed seeing horses and calves nearby as well as friendly cat and her kittens.Area is beautiful and close to so many areas of the new forest.If you want to destress then this is ideal.

Gostou: The caravan is actually a park home so bigger than a caravan which was a bonus.
It was a fantastic base to visit the surrounding area & a cosy place to come back to at the end of the day.
The hosts make the place perfect as they are friendly & helpful.
We had a visit from the cat & dog which was sweet.
We will stay there again if we are ever up that way.

Não gostou: I wouldn't say it's something we disliked but the twin bedroom is really a single bed with a trundle bed underneath, this is fine but leaves no room in the bedroom to move around without putting the bed away, this however didn't put the girls off but I think it's worth mentioning.
We did have a problem finding the place with sat nav, we suggest 'what 3 words to get you there, these are
corrode.guesswork.whirlwind

Gostou: Hospitality’s really welcoming. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable it was like from home to home. The views were beautiful walks in New forest so beautiful brilliant for ramblers and experience for children to visit the wild horses (please do not feed though and go too near) I would certainly recommend this accommodation we really loved it. Gostou: We arrived in the evening around 9pm with our two young children, having driven through the gorgeous woodland road that leads to the farm. My son's first impression was "look! Horses!" which was fabulous and we maintained that sense of excitement as we pulled up. The owner was very friendly and showed us around the site, at which point we were dying for a cuppa so we went inside.

The beds were very comfy, the place was clean and well maintained and the local wildlife were adorable. It was exciting to hear cows and horses and the kids made friends with the cats. Everyone had a wonderful time. I slept like the dead without all the traffic noise!

The location is also only 15 minutes drive from Peppa Pig world and the Wildlife Reserve which makes it ideal if, like me, you get exhausted at these places and don't want a long drive at the end.

We will definitely be back!

Gostou: Lee and the girls were really friendly and welcoming to their farm where you were in the midst of daily farm life. Everything in the caravan I needed was provided, and very clean. Outside patio area with furniture and a separate enclosed area too.

Gostou: The host family were really friendly & welcoming & the little extra touches that greeted us were lovely after a long journey with a toddler! The farm was very peaceful (despite being warned that the cows might be a bit noisy!) and our son loved watching the farm & the animals in the day time.
Location is perfect for a lovely walk to Lyndhurst across the Forest.
The caravan is very homely & spacious & has a great outdoor space for eating outside, and access to barbecue if required. It is quite remote so access to a shop is a 5 minute drive but that was fine for us.
Best wifi, phone & TV reception we've ever had!

Gostou: A lovely sized caravan for our family. Clean and tidy and a great base for us whilst we spent days out and about. Family on the farm very friendly and welcoming and it was nice for our well behaved dog to be welcomed and have an enclosed space.

Gostou: The most comfortable little "home away" I've ever stayed.
Everything inside was clean, well prepared, ale soooo comfy! Loads of fresh fluffy bathroom towels, kitchen towels, blankets, sheets...
Well equipped kitchen with washing up liquid and all you need to do the cooking and cleaning - such a bonus!
Lovely and helpful hosts - they even set their own bbq for us in our private garden area.
The location is absolutely perfect. Private road. In front of the cabin horses and ponnys, cowes on the side, and the biggest bull I've ever seen at the back!
Surrounded by amazing New Forest, and 30min drive to beautiful coast you can't be bored.
And so peaceful and quiet in the evening.

Não gostou: I don't really want to say any negatives, as we had an amazing stay there, and not for everyone it would be a problem, but for me personally the only negative is the owners house overlooking the outside patio of the cabin...

When you’re keen to get out and about on foot, there are routes accessed directly from Home Farm: try the easy circular stroll through Deerleap Woods (10 minutes’ walk), or meander forest paths from the car park at Oakley (15 minutes’ drive). To see some of the oldest (and grandest) Douglas fir trees in the country, follow the waymarked Tall Trees Trail through Blackwater Arboretum (15 minutes). When only a certain pink pig will suffice for the kids, Paultons Park, Home of Peppa Pig World (15 minutes) provides fun-filled hours on Peppa Pig-themed rides as well as rollercoasters and waterslides. There are lots of animal attractions in the New Forest too: handle the hairy spiders (if you dare) and watch birds of prey in flight at Liberty’s Owl, Raptor and Reptile Centre (25 minutes), or head for New Forest Wildlife Park (10 minutes) to spot wolves, otters and wild bison in spacious enclosures. Transport aficionados among you might prefer to spend the day nosing around the vintage car collections at the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu (20 minutes), or admiring the rare bikes at Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum (25 minutes).
