It was farmer’s daughter Helen that came up with the idea of setting up camping pods at Suffolk’s Low Farm. When they were installed in 2023, they were named after her – becoming known as Hellie Pods – and with good reason, because she did most of the work herself to make sure it was done just right. The pods have been set up in a quiet and private area of this working beef and arable farm about 10 minutes’ drive from Halesworth. The area has been fenced off to separate it from the field of horses grazing next door, so it’s fairly safe for kids – but please note it's not foolproof, so you'll still need to keep an eye on youngsters and secure adventurous dogs). Speaking of dogs, they're very welcome here – there are plenty of walking areas and dog-friendly pubs and attractions around, and you can also hire the family's nearby secure dog field at Sotherton Dog Meadow if you like. The pods are sturdy and kitted out with beds and mattresses (a double bunk plus two singles underneath), but be aware that you’ll need to bring bedding along. Each pod has a charcoal barbecue and a firepit (with wood and firelighters provided), and you'll have access to a shared kitchen pod that's got a fridge and space to prep food and wash up (again, you'll need to bring a stove and cooking kit along for this). Keeping things nicely eco-friendly, the pods are powered by solar energy so they've got enough wattage to charge gadgets but not to power things like kettles and hairdryers.

Gostou Quiet, peaceful and secure site in a good location, comfortable pod with good attention to detail from the owner, liked the wood supplied for the fire pit and the fact that a BBQ was provided, liked the good clear details and instructions provided by the owner.

Gostou Hellie Pods are fantastic little glamping pods, they are family friendly and have everything you need for a super glamping holiday, the beds in the pod are comfortable, the outdoor kitchen is close to the pods and is very clean and tidy. The toilet and shower area is also very clean and well kept, the shower is a decent size too which makes washing very easy especially with children.
There is plenty of wood for the fire pit and the owner is happy to top up the wood bucket if you were to run out.
The pods are situated in such a peaceful corner of the farm they are on and you do not get disturbed, it’s so peaceful and feels very magical at night with the solar lights around the pods and fence.
These are most definitely one of the best glamping pods I have stayed in for a long time, I cannot fault anything, as everything has been thought of.
Southwold beach is only 15 minutes drive away and there are many other places to visit which are no more than 30-40 minutes drive away.
A fantastic place to stay with the family and very children friendly too.
Overall I really like Hellie Pods and will definitely be coming back again.
Definitely a 5 star rating place.

Gostou The calming gentle atmosphere, close to Southwold and Halesworth. The bunks were comfortable and external bench table an added bonus. View of fields restful on the eye and camp fire ideal for star gazing and bat watching at night. Loved the solar lights.

Gostou Loved the peaceful rural location. Pods were simple wooden structures with lots of extras including table and benches, firepit and logs, BBQ and even marshmallows! Off grid loo and shower and sink with hot water were a bonus. Even a tiny fridge for one or two essentials. If you like to escape from the hustle and bustle then this hits the spot.

Gostou Peaceful, off the beaten track but not far from lovely Halesworth and Southwold. Only 2 pods so as long as your neighbours are nice, it's very relaxing and quiet. The horses are beautiful. The pods themselves are basic but comfortable and clean. Power sockets a bonus! Bbq, firepit and wood provided. The loo and shower are great. Washing up area clean and a few essentials provided in case you've forgotten something, though I'm not sure what, as we didn't need them. The host was very kind and welcoming. Space to play badminton and swing ball. A real respite from a busy life. We only stayed one night but would have lived to stay longer, and will next time. Highly recommend.
