Burhope Farm Campsite

Gostou: The site is spotlessly clean, with spacious pitches overlooking the lake. Pip, the owner and site manager is very friendly and helpful, and provided local information which enabled us to get a very reasonably priced taxi home from the local pub, to which we had walked (4km walk). A very relaxing stay, with superb facilities by way of the shower and toilet block, as well as a very reliable electric, water and waste supply. This site is within easy reach of Monmouth and Abergavenny, as well as Tintern Abbey, all worthy a visit, so you are spoilt for choice if you want to go out, or else you can spend your days relaxing in the sunshine looking over the lake.

Não gostou: It's sited on a working farm, so if you are expecting absolute tranquility, be aware that there will therefore be occasional farm traffic noise. Not a complaint or dislike, but worth informing others, to manage expectations!|This may not be an issue for those sited further away from the farm, as it's a big site, but it's a small price to pay if you want to be located near to the showers and loos.

Gostou: The setting is beautiful, site immaculate, clean neat, quiet.
Dog field was greatly enjoyed for all its new varied smells, as was the fishing lake with its wild life.
I needed to use my scooter larger wheeled! to get about but no problem.

Não gostou: Not a dislike, as paid for WiFi which enabled us to watch tv on laptop, as no phone signal at all which was quite pleasant for a few days

Gostou: Fabulous scenery, lovely site. Facilities were spotlessly clean. Secure site, quiet, peaceful, ideal to get away from the hustle and bustle. No children was a plus for us!

Não gostou: Nothing to dislike! Access roads can be a little narrow in places but the local motorists are courteous. We did have a large twin axle outfit though.

Everyone friendly - both owners and other campers
Toilets and showers clean and warm
Pippa and Will very helpful and available at all times - Pippa very conscious about the site and works very hard to ensure all campers are satisfied but also that everything runs as it should
Fishing lake is perfect

Gostou: What a fantastic campsite. On arrival I met Pip the owner, who was very helpful and gave us a printout of all important information that we needed to know and useful information about local amenities and showed us to our pitch. It had everything we needed, a fabulous clean and well maintained shower block, hot showers, plenty of room by the showers for all your stuff so you didn't have to worry about it getting wet, never ran out of loo roll or hand wash and the loos didn't have the your typical camping daddy long legs flying about in them.
It's a lovely peaceful campsite too, you're not pitched on top of each other and have lots of room around your tent so you don't hear the conversations from your neighbours.
We had our dog Freda with us, who loved making use of the 2 acre dog pen.
From here we visited Ross-on-Wye to go paddleboarding on the River Wye and the following day to have a wonder around the town. I feel though that there is so much more to visit around the area and would love to stay again for a longer duration.

Não gostou: Was a bit of a trek to the loos, did get good at planning strategic wees and kept an eye on when I had my last drink at night to avoid having to get up in the night to go😆

Gostou: Very peaceful and great location. Site was very clean and facilities were lovely.

Não gostou: Absolutely no internet or phone signal at the site. Charged to connect to wifi and that kept going off.

Gostou: Tranquil atmosphere and amazing views. Spotless toilets and showers. Our pitch was perfect.

Dog paddock is huge, safe and spotless. Our dog absolutely loved it in there.

Pip was very helpful and informative. Would definitely recommend A+

Gostou: Adults only which is what we prefer

beautiful setting around a fishing lake extra field to the side. Spotless shower block ample hot water. Fantastic host nothing an issue. The most friendliest Carp I’ve ever seen 🤣

Não gostou: We couldn’t stay longer !!!
WiFi poor but can pay and get a password however it was good to switch off and have no tv either
