(If that's just not enough water for you, the five lakes of the Verdon du Gorges are within easy day trip distance.)
A big and busy family site, Domaine du Verdon ensures it lays on loads to do on site too: there's a summer kids' club and a junior club for ages five to 12, a teens' club with art, disco and sport sessions, and lively entertainment for all ages along the lines of concerts, dancing and foam parties; rather handily, this all happens opposite the bar...
Fishing (and fishing lessons for under-14s) are also part of the Domaine du Verdon itinerary, and a playground and games room are on site too. You can also check out the fitness trail and outdoor gym if you're yearning to get active; kids have a trampoline for energetic bounces, and a miniature golf course is in the grounds for family competitions.
Central to the site is the fine waterpark, with an outdoor heated pool, waterslides and a paddling pool, all against a spectacular and green mountain backdrop. In between all this, eats are well covered indeed, at the restaurant serving Provençal dishes, the pizzeria for dining in or takeaway, the fast food kiosk for burgers and kebabs, and the grocery shop stuffed with foodie bits.

Lokale attraksjoner
This is outdoorsy land, with the on- and off-water activities of the Verdon river and its gorges accessible either from the site or close by in the stunning surroundings of the Verdon Natural Regional Park. Paragliding, hot air ballooning, horse riding, and birdwatching for vultures are also easily had nearby: the tourist office at the gorge gateway town of Esparron-de-Verdon can give you pointers on where to go and what to see.
All five lakes of the gorges are reachable for day trips, the closest Lac du Quinson, Lac d'Esparron and Lac de St Laurent all 25 to 30 minutes' drive away. Further afield there's Lac de Sainte-Croix, a reservoir just under an hour from the site, and Lac de Castillon (an hour and 15 minutes away), another artificial lake in spectacular surrounds.
Provençal villages – and their accompanying cuisine – should be on your holiday checklist too: try Riez, less than three kilometres from the site, Gréoux-les-Bains, within 20 minutes, and Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, within 25.
