Looking for lively family days in the Ardennes near Signy-le-Petit? Take a peek this place: a pool and spa complex, archery, a lake alongside and lots in the local area like quad biking tours, horse riding and mountain biking and hiking expeditions, plus a bit more besides.
From Signy-le-Petit, be guided by a local expert or guide your own good self with mountain bike tours and hikes from the site or the tourist office there; if you’re a horsey sort, a hack through the forest or around local lakes is a topping option too.
Domaine de la Motte is also smashingly set up for lots of long leisurely days spent on site: the indoor aquatic area has a two-lane pool for lengthy swims; a paddling pool alongside for to tadpoles to splash around in; a super-relaxing whirlpool with geysers and massage jets; plus a sun terrace for full-on France basking.
On land there’s tons for tiddlers, teens and grownups to get involved in: two playgrounds and an 18-hole miniature golf course (a small fee applies to play), a multisports pitch and a ping pong table, plus you can keep things on target with beginners’ archery lessons too. Overindulged? Firstly, congrats, and secondly, fear not, for a training circuit is in the 310-hectare forest that carpets the land behind the site.
All summer long the Domaine de la Motte team organises oodles of fun family activities like bingo, card games, pétanque and soccer tournaments, evening swims and dinner dances with live music. Also in peak season once a week, guests can take buggy and quad tours from the site (a small fee applies), and kids can prance about the site atop a pony.

A mere 500 metres from the park is a lush lake with a beach, fishing and pedalo hire; it’s splendid to spend a day around, with a beau beach bar and a picnic area between water and woodland, making lengthier lingers easy if that’s your leisurely bent.
Horse riding can be arranged locally too, and hiking and mountain biking trips around the locale are available from the site or the local tourist office. Quad bike tours are available too in Mondrepuis.
The farming village of Parfondeval, a short pootle from base, is worth a visit for a leisurely mooch around its red-brick dwellings, apple orchards, lush pastures and golden maize-filled fields.
