It’s all about properly immersing yourself in nature at West Yorkshire’s Woodsworth Exploring – this is a place that’s been set up within 10 acres of broadleaved woodland, with options to pitch tents in the grassy glades or set up a hammock to hang out in the woods (bring your own or hire one on site – someone will be around to help you set it up properly). Peace and space are in good supply here: numbers are kept deliberately very low to ensure that traditional back-to-nature vibe is preserved for all. There’s tons of scope for woodland adventures too: kids can seek out dens hidden among the trees, or construct their own (be sure to bring wellies). Cars are parked near the site entrance so it’s pretty safe for children to roam free around the woodlands. The pitches are between 100 and 400 metres away from the car park. With this back to basics setup come a few handy amenities, including wheelbarrows to help you carry your gear over the several minutes' walk to the pitches, a drinking water standpipe and flushing toilets and sinks. Dogs are welcome to join you here, and of course you’re able to light campfires for a bit of evening warmth (a small extra charge applies for this). Filling your days with more rural outings should be easy, as there are lots of walks in the area for both experienced hikers and leisure strollers. You can get straight out from the woods onto a public right of way for the 10-mile round trip to Top Withins or the easier mile-long amble to Oakworth station (the set of the Railway Children film). And is all of this in the middle of nowhere? Not at all – it’s a five-minute walk to Oakworth’s small supermarket, and there are pubs and restaurants within 10 minutes’ walk. Bigger Keighley is 10 minutes’ drive away should you need its amenities.

Likte: Great place, really like what they are doing building a great habitat really nice to get back to nature. Great tour guide to the pitch.

Likte ikke: Woodpecker alarm clock, in all fairness I have not heard a woodpecker in years so it was actually a good thing.

Likte: Duncan was very knowledgeable and passionate about the conservation efforts in place at Woodsworth and was very accomodating from the get go. The spaces set for pitches were clear and more than suitable for our needs, plus the site is only a short walk away from local amenities (if you forgot a couple of things like we did). Highly recommended to stay, we'll definitely be visiting again.

Likte: The cleanliness of the site was very impressive. The individual pitches were spacious and well spaced out.
Duncan was extremely knowledgeable on all aspects of his site and the conservation work they are doing is very impressive.

Likte: The isolation and the closest feeling of wild camping we have experienced yet. The forest is well maintained but appears untouched by man. Once you are in the pitch you feel all alone and wouldn't know that anyone is nearby.
Having young children was made easier with the on site toilets and sink for easier cleaning . 10/10 recommend.

Likte: Great setting in woodland. Private pitch evenly distanced away from guests. Great location close to lots of ammenities and places to visit. Lots of wildlife caught on my sons trail camera. Toilets clean and well maintained. Friendly helpful staff. Loaned us a cooker after we forgot our connector and helped us to find somewhere to buy a new connector. Enjoyed the hammocks and great to be allowed a campfire. Rules very clear but staff were not intrusive and very relaxed as long as you do what they ask which is all reasonable. Good value for money. Dog and child friendly. Kids recieved a little activity pack and could find allocated sticks to make dens. Definitely will return.

Likte ikke: Cold water and no shower but this is really clear when you book. Didn't bother us but may if it is a longer stay and the weather is poor. Campsite pitches are a distance from car but again this is clearly explained and one of the things we appreciated. Wheel barrows available to assist. Tight car park spaces but sufficient as long as others are considerate and keep to their bay. No bad points just be aware of what to expect before you go.

Clean toilet facilities.

Likte: Sleeping out in a hammock! Wonderful experience.
This place prioritises the natural world and I loved the experience of existing, even for a short time, as a human minority in a natural model.

Likte ikke: Honestly, nothing! Even with nights at 3°, it was magical and cosy.

Likte: The walls available and camping in the Forrest was lovely. Had our own space to explore and didn’t feel like we was camping right on top of someone else.

Likte: Like the area, was peaceful and quite,out of the way . Owner was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area and campsite . facility's was A+ best we've seen at a site.

Induction and fire training were easy to understand and didn't take to long .

Site has many pitches for different size tent , some in open areas and some in more sheltered areas .

Getting to chose when we pitched up was great .

Is a know dog walking route but was told if getting disturbed then they close the dog walking route up , this was great to know .
