Staying at Camping Alua Iznajar puts you right in the heart of Andalusia, and what a privileged position this is: within a 75-minute drive, you could be in Granada, home of the Alhambra; in Málaga, checking out the Picasso Museum or the bustling port area; or in Córdoba, with its intriguing Mosque-Cathedral. But chances are you will not want to move from this spot, because there is plenty here to keep you busy. The site sits on sandy Valdearenas Beach, right on the banks of Iznajar Reservoir, a large man-made lake surrounded by olive tree-covered hills. You will not have to walk too far to stumble upon places that rent pedal boats and kayaks or arrange sailing trips. Wild swimming not your thing? Not a problem – for the site has its own swimming pool (plus a paddling area), and there is also a municipal sports centre nearby (five minutes’ walk) with another pool, plus tennis and basketball courts and a football pitch. Back at the site, while the children make new friends at the kids’ club, you can grab a drink from the bar and sip it on the covered terrace, taking in views of the hilly, desert-like landscape around you. If the stomach starts to rumble, there are ice creams and other treats at the on-site restaurant, which also serves traditional and regional specialities. A store sells a range of essential products, and for anything else you need for the barbecue, there are shops (and more restaurants) in Iznájar (five minutes’ drive).

Lokale bezienswaardigheden

The port area in Málaga (1 hour 10 minutes’ drive) is fringed by the Palmeral de Las Sorpresas, a long, covered, paved path dotted with benches. Buy an ice cream and watch the cruise ships pull into port, before heading to the Centre Pompidou Malaga, with its exterior of colourful glass panels. Granada (1 hour 10 minutes) is home to the Alhambra, an exquisite Moorish palace with intricately carved ceilings and doorways, plus the luxuriant Generalife Gardens. The best overall views of the entire complex are from the Albaicín district, across the river Darro. The Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba (1 hour 15 mins) is a riot of pillars and multicoloured arches, while its gardens, the Patio de los Naranjos, are dotted with orange trees and overlooked by an elegant bell tower. A Roman bridge spanning the river Guadalquivir takes you to the Torre de Calahorra tower, with views of the city.

Staanplaats voor caravan en camper op aarde , met elektriciteit

Ik was blij met Size of pitch
Easy access to walks
Restaurant and Bar within walking distance
Hot water in shower

Ik was niet blij met Washing up area was poor - No hot water and dirty area, broken taps on some sinks.

Shower room had nowhere to put belongings other than the floor. Hooks broken on doors of 2 of the showers in ladies area.
