It's Sardinia, so even teeny holidaymakers should know that a spectacular setting is very much sorted. And yet. Even grownup holidaymakers, even of long experience, should see something (several things) a bit extra special about Camping Bungalow La Pineta.
As golden beaches, clear blue waters and ancient artefacts are all a given on this excellent island, you may care to start off first with the site itself, which is immaculately maintained by cheerfully amiable Tiziana and Giuliano. This is a highly pretty place, made up of greenery and colourful flowers, pine trees and flowering shrubs, and shaded areas for sunbathing and lazing about: check out the covered patio in the site pics, or the handsome chillout area, with sun loungers scattered about under the Sardinian sky…
Surroundings next? This friendly site is 400 metres from the long golden stretch of Planargia beach, in the beaut Bari Sardo coastline area, near the ancient region of Ogliastra. Scuba diving, kayaking, boat excursions, sailing… take your pick from activities on the nearby waters, as well as hiking and exploring among the nearby cliffs and coves. Hiking trips, guided boat tours, horse riding, tennis and heaps more can be arranged by the team, many at a discount to Pineta guests.
For days on site (highly recommended; it's lush), Tiziana, Giuliano and their family team lay on loads of activities and games for kids and grownups, including puppet shows, creative workshops, musical instrument making and even yoga for all sizes so you can feel the maximum of Zenlike in this serene setting.
A professional team is to hand in summer to occupy the kids for a few hours while their owners have a snooze or a bask, and teenagers have their own hangout space at the café, where they can play billiards, board games and music. For all ages, there are family activities such as live music at the bar, by passing bands who drop in at the site during their summer tours.
The bar has an indoor space, a garden, and a sofa space indoors for reading and reclining. It's next to the Pineta restaurant-pizzeria, which dishes up traditional Sardinian and Mediterranean cuisine using local products, as well as international cuisine from a varied menu. You can even have pizzas delivered to your unit: this is a pretty special Sardinian site indeed.

Lokale bezienswaardigheden
Planargia beach covers several kilometres of the local coastline and is made up of fine sands and pebbled areas. It's a popular destination for scuba diving and snorkelling; several centres are along this part of coast where you can book scuba diving and kayaking excursions and tours, or ask back at base for all the info you need.
The site is a few kilometres from Bari Sardo, a peaceful place that stays relatively serene even in the height of summer. Potter along here to see its 16th-century Aragonese tower and a handful of old churches including the church of Nostra Signora di Monserrato, before an enthusiastic exploration of the local cuisine in one of the restaurants: Cannonau wine and culurgiones (handmade ravioli) are what to hungrily look out for here.
The preserved region of Ogliastra is nearby, made up of spectacular scenery along the Tyrrhenian Sea and among caves, mountains and lakes inland. Also well worth a look are the Su Marmuri caves, 20 kilometres from Bari Sardo and 800 metres above sea level.
