Looking for your next family holiday in the Ardèche Verte? You’ve stumbled upon it right here at Camping Les Sables, a friendly, welcoming site five minutes’ drive from Tournon-sur-Rhône. Fun facilities to keep everyone gainfully occupied on site include a swimming pool with waterslides for the kids, a playground, ping-pong table and pétanque court.
If that’s not quite enough, the site also has direct access to the Doux River for paddling, wild swimming and kayaking adventures, and Tournon’s municipal basketball court is just a few steps away when you all fancy a family knockabout.
Keen to practise your alfresco cooking skills? Stock up in the convenience store at reception and try out the communal barbecue. Otherwise, you can rely on the morning bread delivery service (remember to order the day before), and a supply of drinks, fries, pizzas and paninis from the poolside snack bar.
Now the practical stuff… The spacious grass pitches have optional electric hook-ups (don’t forget your European adapters, travellers from the UK), are shaded by mature trees and have handy access to washing-up sinks, showers and loos. There are facilities for guests with reduced mobility too.

Minderjarigen (18-) dienen te worden vergezeld door een ouder en/of officiële voogd.- Op deze camping zijn hondenrassen/kruisingen die in de 'lijst met hoog-risico honden op agressief gedrag' zijn opgenomen, niet toegestaan (zoals de pitbullterriër, tosa, Argentijnse dog en fila brasileiro). Ook de volgende rassen zijn niet welkom: de staffordshire-bulterriër, Amerikaanse staffordshireterriër, rottweiler en mastiff.
- Het reserveren voor vrijgezellenfeesten is niet toegestaan via Pitchup.com.
- Het buitenzwembad is geopend tussen 04/04 en 11/10 (afhankelijk van de weersomstandigheden).
- Het restaurant is geopend van 04/04 tot 11/10.
- Tussen 01/07 en 30/08 worden er activiteiten en entertainment verzorgd.
- Voertuigen met tandemas zijn niet toegestaan op deze camping.
- Kortingskaarten en cadeaubonnen kunnen niet gebruikt worden bij reserveringen via Pitchup.com.
- Voor het gebruik van de elektrische aansluitingen is een kabel van minstens 15 meter nodig.
- De bar is geopend van 04/04 tot 11/10.
- Houd er rekening mee dat de toiletten/douches uniseks zijn.
- Geen houtskoolbarbecues toegestaan.
- Indien de receptie bij aankomst gesloten is: neem contact op met het nummer dat in de reserveringsbevestiging vermeld staat.
- Bij droog, winderig en/of heet weer zijn vuren, barbecues en vuurkorven niet toegestaan.

Lokale bezienswaardigheden
This may be a holiday but it’s always a good idea to keep the kids on their toes. There are hiking routes straight from the pitches, or you can climb on your bikes and cycle sections of the long-distance ViaRhôna (15 minutes by bike). You may like to try horse riding (10 minutes’ drive), or give river canyoning a bash at Aquarock Aventure (an hour).
If the kids are still running on energy, let them do all the pedalling on the Vélorail des Gorges du Doux (20 minutes), a scenic ride through the Doux Valley along a former train line. When they finally tire, clamber aboard a steam locomotive (10 minutes) for a chug through the dramatic Ardèche gorge, or treat them to the history of chocolate (and plenty of sweets to eat) at the Cité du Chocolat Valrhona (also 10 minutes).
Having worn the offspring out, you get to choose what to do. Take a tour of the art collections and period rooms at the Château-Musée de Tournon-sur-Rhône (five minutes), which also offers fantastic views over the River Rhône. Alternatively, explore the network of caves and the archeological museum at Soyons (half an hour).
