Ssh, this is a mighty peaceful place. And with the means for long days of pampering too – and all a kilometre stroll from a sandy beach and a medieval Lot-et-Garonne town.
The pampering at Grand Bleu Résidence Port-Lalande comes courtesy of the sauna, massage room and hammam of the site spa (there's a gym here too if you need to feel virtuous first). And the beach? Port-Lalande is on the banks of the Lot river, a short amble from the sands and swimming waters of the beach at the medieval town of Castelmoron-sur-Lot.
Canoeing, boating and paddleboarding trips on the Lot can all be arranged from town; on land, this is prime locale for cycling and hiking: borrow guidebooks from the Port-Lalande team to keep you on the right path.
A pool and a paddling pool are on site too for your leisurely pleasure as well as the spa and gym; slightly more actively, there's a pétanque court and ping pong tables, along with a playground and a kids' club running on weekdays in summer.

Lokale bezienswaardigheden
There are some beaut walks and bike rides from the site into the Lot-et-Garonne countryside from the site, or you could just wander along to Castelmoron-sur-Lot to see its Moorish-style town hall, bask on its beach, eat your way around town or sort watery trips by canoe, paddleboard or boat.
Castelmoron is 17 kilometres from the ancient bastide town of Villeneuve-sur-Lot and its Sangruère racecourse, and under 20 from the Caves of Fontirou, where you can take a tour of 40 minutes or so among its many stalactites and stalagmites. About an hour's drive away, the decorated caves of the Vézère Valley include 147 prehistoric sites and 25 painted caves between Montignac and Le Bugue.
Also worth a look within driving distance are the scenic villages of Pujols (15 kilometres) and Monflanquin (25 kilometres), the bastide town founded in the 13th century. Closer to home, the pools, hundreds of species of water lilies and a spectacularly-set café of the 19th-century gardens of Latour-Marliac are three kilometres away.
