The Heart of Exmoor

Ik was blij met Fantastic views, clean facilities and plenty of space. Friendly owner. Firepits and logs available. Simple, semi wild site with a very well maintained compost toilets with washbasin. So quiet here, just the birds and the sheep!

Ik was niet blij met Nothing to dislike really. Was a bit windy, but you need to be exposed to get the views

Ik was blij met Fantastic location. Uninterrupted views from South East to South West. Makes for superb star gazing when the skies clear.

Composting toilet significantly more pleasant than a standard portaloo 😁

Ik was blij met Lovely quiet, small site, beautiful views. Basic, but clean and tidy.

Ik was niet blij met Only 1 loo, had to wait quite often. Also the light is reliant on solar power, not a problem if it’s run out as we all have torches, but the tap also relies on this, so sometimes you couldn’t wash your hands.
The track to the field is very rocky and uneven. Go very slowly

We generally have between one and four tents at the campsite, during your stay we were fully book with 10 tents/campers. I was really happy with the atmosphere when I visited during my daily check and am pleased that you thought it was quiet, clean and tidy :)

Ik was blij met Beautiful remote location. Nice views over the North Devon hills. Quiet and peaceful. Great views of the night sky. Free firepit with wood available to purchase. Composting toilet was clean.

Just be wary of the midges in summer, as they were out in force and biting.

Van de manager: Perfect and simple overview of the campsite, exactly what we are trying to achieve and love the photos! Good bit of advice about the midges, we've only seen them for a few evenings this Summer - get a lovely fire lit as the sun is setting as they don't like smoke. No worries when the stars are out, as they will be gone!

Ik was blij met Wow, stunning scenery and surroundings. Such a peaceful site.
Serena was a great host, always available to contact , came up to meet and greet all guests each evening which was a lovely personal touch.
It was all very clean/tidy.
We will definitely return.

Ik was blij met We loved the peaceful surroundings and friendliness of the owner (Serena), aswell as the other campers.

There were free firepits to use and logs weren't expensive to buy onsite either.

Loads of room and the eggs were amazing.

Ik was niet blij met Although we managed to get down the lane in fairly low sports cars, it took a fair bit of navigating so as not to tear our undertrays off.

Im not marking the site down because of this though.

Ik was blij met Fantastic site, lovely an peaceful with lots of space. The toilet facilities where a plus along with options for a fire pit and wood. The views are stunning and if you get a clear sky during the night then it becomes even more spectacular with an amazing veiw of the stars. We where lucky enough to see two shooting stars and several star constellations.
