Stars and Moor

Ik was blij met Stars & Moor site is in a fantastic setting with lovely views & is beautifully maintained. It's also in a dark sky area.
Paul & Vicki are amazing hosts who go above & beyond to make you welcome & have a relaxing stay.
The facilities are quirky, tastefully installed & clean.
There was plenty of area for our dog to be exercised as well, he loved it.
All in all highly recommended.

Ik was blij met Lovely and calm Campsite in beautiful scenery and landscape. Campsite is next to very beautiful walk and hiking routes. The pub down from the camp site, The Crows Nest offered absolutely fantastic food.

Ik was niet blij met Access to the campsite is challenging.

With us being a fairly remote campsite on the open Moor the access can be a challenge up the short unadopted track for some. However glad you found the track worth it once your here.

Ik was blij met Beautiful peaceful place. Nice flat pitches which were well kept with benches and a brolly needed in this heat. Spotless facilities and the use of a fridge/freezer and a charge point which was ideal.
Nice friendly owners.
Plenty of things to see and do in this area without having to drive very far. Had a fab afternoon tea in Minions swimming in the quarry walked to the cheese ring and a lovely burger and walk in Golitha falls. Would highly recommend this place . Its a little peace of heaven

Ik was blij met Great spot, easy to get too other than the last lane up to the site itself, good views , decent walking trails straight off the campsite, clean toilet /shower area, tent pitches mowed into the long grass in the field adds a wild and nice vibe, lovely hosts

Ik was blij met Like another reviewer, I almost don’t want to tell people about this place! Here, you’re just a couple of minutes walk from being on the open moor with the sheep and cows and engine houses – it’s quite rare to have access that close in Cornwall. There are incredible views, reaching as far as the Cornish Alps in the west and Dartmoor in the east, but the trees around the site mean you don’t feel over-exposed to the elements should Bodmin weather descend.

The owners were very welcoming and helpful and the site is immaculately kept, with everything you need and nothing you don't. Plenty of space has been given for nature to thrive, with the meadow left to grow between tent spaces in the camping field. The first field has the nicest grass! I was expecting a full back-to-nature experience but was quietly pleased to find a fancy bathroom in a horse box, a fridge-freezer and a plug to charge phones!

The area has amazing places to explore, with tors, stone circles, quoits, Caradon mining district all walkable. It’s a shorter walk to the local (The Crows Nest) than you might assume when driving uphill to the site – just take the footpaths back down the valley. Bring supplies with you as there’s no local shop in either Darite or Crows Nest, though there is a farm shop the other side of Caradon Hill.

Access is as advertised – steep, tight and rocky with three gates to go through – but just follow the clear instructions provided and you’ll be grand. We managed the tight turn into the farm in a LWB VW (2m) with no problems but I wouldn't want to try it in anything much wider or be driving on and off site a lot. Advise once there, just park up, relax and enjoy!
