Green Haven Camping has a greatly convenient setting, just the ticket for investigating the best of the Suffolk and Norfolk countryside – and an easy drive from the Suffolk seaside at Southwold and among market towns, heaps of hikes and plenty of good English pubs. The owners of this eco site are developing it as a wildlife garden where people can pitch rather than a formally laid out site, to make a relaxing and secluded environment for camping. The camping area is in a field with grass kept long between pitches and along the site path, and plenty of native hedging and plants have been added to create hidden habitats for wildlife (and guests). To help with the peaceful vibe, the parking area is kept separate from the pitches and cars can tow their caravans on and off the site. A garden trolley is provided for you to cart your tent and kit to your pitch. (The parking area is only a few metres from the camping area, but if this might be an issue for you, let the Green Haven team know in the 'Special requests' box when you book.) Green Haven has a modern, clean and airy unisex toilet block with underfloor heating, wash facilities and showers, and a covered washing-up area. The toilets are flushed with harvested rainwater and much of the electricity on the Green Haven site is generated by their own field-mounted solar panels. There are also good recycling and composting facilities, as guests are encouraged to produce as little landfill waste as poss. The site also has a small reception area with lots of info on what to see and do all around, and its own eggs, apple juice and other local produce available for sale as well as camping supplies. Orders can be taken for fresh milk supplies and a nearby dairy provides yoghurts, butter and ice creams. A friendly pub is just up the road. Green Haven want guests to have as great a time as possible and are always making new developments, so if you have any comments or suggestions, just let them know when you stay.

Zeer gewaardeerde, kleine, rustige camping in landelijk Suffolk. Geprezen om netheid en milieuvriendelijkheid (zonne-energie douches). Vriendelijke eigenaren, goed onderhouden faciliteiten, leuke winkeltjes met lokale producten. Rustige sfeer, ruime plaatsen, ideaal voor wandelingen en kustverkenning. Very friendly and accommodating owners.
Close to places like southwold and aldeburgh, great Yarmouth and Lowestoft.

Ik was blij met Green Haven Camping is just as it says - a haven of green in the Suffolk countryside. The owners are very friendly with someone always being on hand/there to answer the phone. We especially liked the way they made time each evening to wander the site checking on everyone and asking about their days. This was our second visit in our campervan, and the site was exactly as we remembered it from two years ago - clean, well looked after, and welcoming. The water is very hot, thanks to the solar panels. Showers are 50p for 7 minutes, but there are plenty of coins in the Honesty Shop. We never had to wait to use the facilities, even when the site was fully booked.

We will be returning yet again, for another restful break soon.

Ik was blij met Warm welcome on arrival from the owner, very helpful & knowledgeable of local areas. Lovely peaceful site. Great clean facilities and a honesty shop with a selection of supplies available. Pub within 10 minute walk.

Ik was blij met Lovely small, quiet site with good clean amenities. Friendly and also close to the coast and many gorgeous walks. This is our third visit and we will be back. Loved being close to Halesworth and all the independent shops. Dog friendly. 😀

Ik was blij met Very friendly and small, personal all grass campsite. Fire pits and wood all available to use. Great little shop with some amazing cinnamon buns! Even ice packs to borrow if you forgot! Showers and toilets all sparkling clean.

Ik was blij met Green Haven is exactly that! Having solar panels to provide energy and rainwater harvesting to flush the toilets. Situated in rural Suffolk it provides access to local walks and, a bit further away, the east coast. A smaller site providing electric hook ups and generous pitches for the full range of units, vehicles and tents. Mature hedges provide some privacy and taller trees an effective wind break. Facilities are very clean and sufficient, with fridges and freezers provided for campers use and some local produce on sale. The owners are very friendly, approachable and active. A great, little green site.

Lokale bezienswaardigheden

Stick to gentle countryside or beach strolls, or pootle along to more formal attractions like Sutton Hoo and the castles at Framlingham and Orford. The city of Norwich is about 45 minutes away. The beaches of the Suffolk coast including Southwold, Aldeburgh and Lowestoft are half an hour or less away and are popular days out in the area for Lowestoft Lighthouse and the most easterly part of the UK at Nees Point; the famed Southwold beach chalets and pier, and festivals and the arts centre Snape Maltings at Aldeburgh. Birdwatching buffs can take their binoculars to nearby RSPB Minsmere, or to Walberswick, to spy specimens among the heath and marshlands. The latter has a good beach for crabbing too – and you might also catch sight of a celebrity resident in the surrounds: rich peeps live here… The Broads of Norfolk and Suffolk are a main draw for visitors to this part of England and a boat trip along their 120 miles or so of waterways is very much a must. Wildlife and fishing trips are also easy to arrange. Dunwich and Beccles are a mere two of the villages and market towns around the region: leaf through the tourist brochures at Green Haven to find details of these and of local walks, swimming, horse riding, heaths and gardens to see.
