Ten acres of space, two fishing lakes, two main roads close by for easy journeys… the numbers stack up pretty well for Walnut Lakes, in the Lincolnshire countryside just under 15 minutes’ drive from Boston. There’s plenty of space to relax at this park, and it’s all reserved for the grownups, as children aged 14 and under are not permitted on site. Dogs are very welcome, however, and can have a good stretch of the legs on the dedicated half-mile dog walk. As the park is so handily placed for both the A16 and A17, it’s also easy to get out and about to lots of other good places for a walk (whether you’re taking a dog or not…) The central highlight of this farm site is the two lakes, Walnut and Daisy – both fabulous spots for fishing (please bring the relevant licence along) or simply chilling out by the water and enjoying the views.You’ll get views across the lakes from all around the park too, if you’d rather hide out in your own little private corner for a while. This is a park with something of a rural atmosphere, but it’s also one that’s well placed for amenities – within a mile you can walk to a couple of pubs, shops, a restaurant and bus stops (for services to Boston and Spalding). The surrounding area has plenty more to offer in terms of places to eat, drink and shop as well. And of course, it’s well supplied with attractions for your days out too – have a look at the information on site for some ideas.

Ik was blij met: Loved that it was so peaceful and the view of the lake. The Caribbean food an extra surprise! Perfect retreat for what we needed.

Ik was niet zo blij met: Bathrooms a little basic and busy but not really a huge problem.

Ik was blij met: A nice little campsite. Well maintained with a clean toilet & shower block. We only paid £3 for electricity for 2 nights, such great value for money. The owner was a lovely lady who made sure to welcome every guest onto the site.

Ik was niet zo blij met: Being surrounded by duel carriage ways meant that there was a constant hum of vehicles but we got used to the sound after a while. We wished there was a little more around the area and would have been nice to have somewhere for a walk but found we had to drive everywhere

Van de manager: Sorry the road upset you it was bank holiday so traffic was busy its not a duel carriage way its the a17 main route to Norfolk you could have gone further back on the paddock away from the road. there are lots of yellow routes country single track roads around us but you obviously didn't find them but thanks for your review.

Ik was blij met: We just had a lovely weekend at walnut lakes such a pleasure not to have screaming kids running around, I would highly recommend this site for a quite adult break away perfect for reliving the stress of day to day life. The pitches are large enough to put your caravan and awning on hardstanding with a lovely grass bit next to you if you choose to put your awning on grass. Fishing lakes are a pleasure to be beside very relaxing. Thanks for a great weekend we will be back again

Ik was blij met: Lovely well kept adult only campsite. Nice big spacious plots, level pitches. Clean and sufficient facilities for showering/pot washing, water points and bins in good supply, owners are also lovely and very welcoming!

Ik was blij met: We just had another couple of days at walnut lakes, the weather has been fabulous too. Really peaceful and relaxing place to stay. Great pitches too! big enough for awning and all my fishing stuff. Showers and toilets are spotless and there is a very handy washing up area too. highly recommend to try this lovely site.

Nice well stocked fishing lakes all near the touring pitches.

Ik was niet zo blij met: Shame about the road noise the park is directly on the A17 .
No wifi which is a shame.

Van de manager: at the moment being in the countryside we cannot offer wifi there is no fibre connection in our area. However there is a o2 mast nearby which gives phones 4g signal

For those hoping to get out and explore the Lincolnshire countryside, there are several options – bring bikes along to pedal along local cycle paths, take your binoculars to RSPB Frampton Marsh (15 minutes’ drive) or head out for a walk at the Boston Woods Trust (10 minutes) perhaps. Alternatively, maybe you’d like to try a visit to Baytree Owl and Wildlife Centre (15 minutes) or a river cruise on the Boston Belle (15 minutes). Other ideas for days out might take you to the likes of Ayscoughfee Hall Museum and Gardens (15 minutes), the World War II museum We’ll Meet Again (20 minutes) or the intriguing little Bubblecar Museum (20 minutes). Looking a little further afield, you may like to try a day out in King’s Lynn (35 minutes) or some time on the beach in Skegness (45 minutes), which also has a seal sanctuary, an aquarium and a model village.
