Canoe hire is 25 minutes’ walk away, while Clifford Castle and the bookshops of Hay-on-Wye are within 10 minutes’ drive. If you’re here to tour the countryside, bound off to the Brecon Beacons National Park (15 minutes) for hilly hikes among the lush greenery; a horse riding school is the same distance away if you’d prefer to potter through the landscape aboard an animal. Keen to see more creatures? Set off for the Small Breeds Farm Park and Owl Centre (15 minutes) to ooh and ahh over miniature critters.
