The Ross Rowing Club Campsite

Ik was blij met: Open plan grass pitches, clean and well maintained toilets and showers close to the river Wye and a short walk from the nearest pub food. The town was a little further with some really nice independent coffee shops.
Contact was made by them to make sure we had all the information we needed this was done by text and worked really well
£12.50 ppn bargain.

Ik was niet zo blij met: Was about 300 metres from the A 40 and while you couldn’t see it you could hear it specially over the bridge over the river. This did not put me off returning. We will return to explore this beautiful part of Wales further

Ik was niet zo blij met: Water problems on Saturday, gents toilet closed for a while on Sunday. I can accept these as unforeseeable circumstances.

As for Monday, having no toilet paper in the gents and womens toilets is unforgivable.
This is the most basic of needs on any campsite and if you can't supply that then you shouldn't operate as such.

We have taken your comments on board and apologise for the lack of facilities over the weekend – this was due to insufficient mains water supply - and have been working hard this week to redress this.

Ik was blij met: Pitch was perfect, we were at the furthest side of the campsite and still not too far for toilets and shower block. Felt very safe and lovely to be so close to the river and a very short walk into Ross on Wye town.

Ik was blij met: So much space! Only a handful of other vans/tents with a college group on a separate field. Pitch nice and level and there was a low level amount of road noise from nearby A40 but didn’t bother me and I’m a light sleeper.
Didn’t use the facilities so can’t comment but they looked ok.

Ik was niet zo blij met: Managing two locked gates with codes is a bit of a nuisance when you’re travelling alone but understand why they are needed.

Very large pitch and great to have big field separating opposite pitches.
Clean showers and toilets.

Ik was niet zo blij met: No real supervision and it is a public place as lots of paths through the site
Allocated spaces seems random especially as really quiet when we were there.
