Fabulous position and views

Ik was niet blij met Nothing really apart from very steep hill back to site from Wirksworth. Not for the feint hearted unless you are fit

Ik was blij met The views are stunning, toilets always clean and modern, looks like a lot happened over the bank holiday weekend (food, bingo, etc), peaceful, polite pleasant owners on arrival, loved this site.

This is one of the only places I have chosen to pitch outward to enjoy the view as I sit in my tent.

I never had to queue for the shower, or a toilet. The water pressure was always ok for us but the site was very quiet (about 10 tents) after a very busy bank holiday according to one camper and the owner.

Close to different attractions. Chatsworth house took us 40 minutes, Matlock Bath 15 minutes, Tramway Museum 15 minutes, plenty of other attractions to see within 45 minute drive.

We will definitely be returning.

Pot holes on track to the pitches need sorting. (Me being very picky - they aren't too bad and worse on some roads!)

The pitches are on top of an exposed hill so a little windy at times - I would definitely bring a better tent next time!

Honestly, the dislikes are more just about being aware - not reasons to book elsewhere. This place is lovely and I would definitely recommend it.

Ik was niet blij met Nothing really. But Only i can say is, Occasionally you have to stay in queue for washroom, but it's fine if you can manage the timing.

Ik was blij met Wonderful warm welcome on my arrival. The site, set in several areas with dry stonewalls around each. The site is naturally sloping but there are plenty of places where you're able to pitch on near level ground.
The toilets and showers are good. Be aware on this visit, a bank holiday weekend at about 9am there was a queue. Lucky I'm an early riser. 5am was quiet.
Set up on site was a marquee with seating and a bar. Later I visited and got a cool pint of Guinness and a tasty burger. The following evening a fish and chip van was on site. Large fish chips with peas was £14.50. very nice. Thoroughly recommend the food served there and in the bar
It a good site for families. As a solo camper it was enjoyable. Well worth a visit

Ik was blij met Large open space made up of 3 fields so even during a busy weekend it didn’t feel crowded. The sandpit was a hit the kids and the fire pit was a real treat in the evening. All the staff I met were friendly and helpful. I will definitely be returning.

Ik was blij met What an experience for our first time camping as a young family scenery unreal simple and easy to get up and running pick your spot in one of 2/3 fields once you’ve checked in and get your tent up. Don’t panic if your struggling people are happy to give you a hand. Was fill of nice young families like ourselves. There’s a beer tent with pop up food vans That come on Friday and Saturday night and a band on Saturday night with beer soft drinks sweets and. The man and woman who own it work every hour god sends constantly there making sure everything is ok and the staff they employ are brilliant all share a passion for keeping the standards high. If you want to experience your first time away camping and your a bit nervous then this is the right place for you lots of people came with other people and set up there little camps with 4-5 tents circled and kids were playing games etc football cricket there’s loads of space. Wirksworth town down the hill 20-25 min walk is beautiful nice pubs and cafe it has a regular bus Into Matlock bath which is great for the kids arcades fish and chip shops peddlo’s and a little play park all in all great experience would Highly reccomend. Get it booked

Ik was blij met Lots of space, lovely clean facilities, super friendly staff and a bar on site, what’s not to like! Breakfast rolls ordered and cooked on arrival, best campsite we’ve ever stayed at. 👍🏻👍🏻
