Camping Eldorado

The recreational lake of the Mookerplas is a popular South Holland spot for canoeing and kayaking, boating and other watersports, along with lounging on its big sandy beach or taking dips in its safe and clean waters. Canoe rental is available along the lake. Camping Eldorado is in the village of Plasmolen with its many restaurants and cafés. The village has easy access to many cycling and walking trails along to the hills and wildlife of the Sint-Jansberg nature reserve. You can also get to the old Roman town of Cuijk and the riverside city of Gennep by bike, both within about four kilometres (bike hire is available on site). Within driving distance, have a day out at the oldest city in the Netherlands, Nijmegen, dating back to Roman times. Some remains of the Roman city wall can still be seen; for museums, the Valkhof Museum covers Roman and medieval history as well as modern art, the House of the History of Nijmegen tells the tale of the town and the Velorama is the only bicycle museum in the Netherlands. Just over the border in Germany, Kleve is about 22 kilometres from the site.
