The River's Edge

Mi è piaciuto Lovely little site with level pitches and plenty of space. Toilet and shower facilities more than adequate. The on site pub was fantastic. Being coeliac i had so much choice and allergies are taken very seriously. We will most definitely be back !

Mi è piaciuto Loved it all. 3 nights. The welcome was lovely, the staff were very helpful. The pub is delightful. You must try the food.

Non mi è piaciuto We found staff rude as a group of 10 we phoned the pub in advance to book a table they asked us to pre order again this wasn't a problem for us we booked the table for 6 we arrived at the pub just before was shown to our table and ordered our drinks at the bar at 6.45pm we still hadn't been severed our food we understand that it is all cooked to order but that was the point of pre ordering my niece very politely asked if we could possible have the child's meal as he was becoming restless the waitress snapped at my niece that the "food was coming out "the same waitress then made hwr way to the bar where another family member was waiting for a drink and said to her co -worker " they come in as a big table and now they are DEMANDING the child's food " we were served a few minutes later and the food was amazing
On the Saturday morning the ladies toilets ( 3 of them ) were out of toilet roll my niece went to inform the owners to be meet with " well you all used it and my cleaner can't clean in the morning as it's too busy " again we understand this but we were just letting them know we found this very rude

Dal gestore: Thank you Annabele for taking the time to leave a review and we are obviously disappointed that we fell short in a few areas, excellent standards and service are what we always aim to achieve and it seems we got one or two things wrong here. We have had a very unfortunate run lately of guests removing our shower block products rendering all our other guests without the basics which we apologise for, without manning the facility day and night, we are struggling to police this particular area at this time whilst we find a solution, I am assuming our frustration may have shown which we truly apologise for. The preorder is and always has been to ensure we have what you would like and never means you will get it instantly unfortunately, we have both bookings and walk in business and it really does depend on the level at the time just how quickly we can get our food out and at a standard we are all happy with and I think we will possibly need to agree to disagree on how the question was asked and when based on our review of the evening. Again, we are sorry we fell short on one or two things and rest assured, we take all feedback seriously and discuss regularly where we can improve.

Mi è piaciuto The hosts were very accommodating and friendly. We did a little concern because of the length of our rig, but they looked after us. The food in the adjoining pub was brilliant. This is under new management and the staff worked hard to help. Thank you

Mi è piaciuto Lovely little campsite. Pub looked nice when I went inside. Only went in once to get the information of where we are staying. Staff were nice to talk to when seeing them. 6 miles from Abergavenny so was easy to get to the supermarket or to have a walk around the town. 11:00 am check out.

Email and campsite rules don’t match up when it comes to having awning and children. On the booking site it said no awning, camp fire, BBQ and children. Got to the camp site and this was different part from the camp fire that was still not aloud. We left our awning in storage to give us some room then to find out we could have taken it with us it was a shame as we also like to sit under it in all weathers. Tree need cutting down to a safe level as when the wind got high it became very scary in case they fell down as they have become very tall. The children were not to loud and didn’t get in the way. Having a 11.30 pm cut of for any noise was a shame as some people were having a good time and then had to quite down or stop all together. Should be a late one for Friday and Saturday.Toilets are ok and do the job. Shower is again ok but the water gets hot and there no cold tap to cool the water. You also have to put everything on the floor in the shower cube as there was no where to put anything. Bathroom was always closed around 11:00 am this is the time where most people were leaving and had to wait or go on there travel without using the bathroom. The cleaning of the dishes etc was close to both bathrooms and the door was always open. It didn’t matter if you closed it as it would be opened again. It’s not very hygienic to be cleaning your dishes with the bathroom so close to the area. WiFi was given to us but kept on kicking us off it on anything i did or when it became busy.

Dal gestore: Thank you for taking the time to review your time here with us, there is quite a lot to address in the comments but as your nightly said, we are new owners here and just being here a year has pointed the way to where we are constantly investing and aiming to improve. The shower block is dated, as is the system and we plan to refurb the whole area this winter, impossible to do when open as you can imagine. The Free wifi has been largely successful and actually, I think you may be the first to have an issue since its installation so apologies for that. The trees have been considered and actually, we have thinned out a large part of the area already, again, there are plans for further works in this area once we have closed this season, very difficult to do this type of work when in operation. I would like to address your comment regarding the park rule regarding the late noise levels, we have been here long enough to be part of some horrific late nights due to guests partying and playing loud music until the very small hours resulting in large numbers of complaints, I actually think you are the only guest we have ever had asking for more noise!! Our policy will not change on this due to the vast majority of our guests actually wanting to get some sleep at some point during tier stay. Again, we do appreciate your feedback and we will always try to address and control the controllable wherever possible. We will look into any disparity between the parks policies and those advertised elsewhere to ensure they become aligned as quickly as possible and we appreciate you bringing that to our attention. Mi è piaciuto Easy access off main road, level pitches, well maintained. Showers nice and hot. Food looks amazing in the on site pub. Nice large beer garden. This was our second visit this year.

Non mi è piaciuto Not disliked but just for noting there is a train line just on the other side of the river but it isn’t too intrusive and didn’t bother us.

Mi è piaciuto First time we have been to Rivers Edge and what a lovely site it was, clean and tidy. Shower facilities were clean and the setting was beautiful and 16 amp was brilliant.

Non mi è piaciuto Fire pits being allowed to smoke all day long was quite off putting, as that was all you could smell all day and making our clothes smell when sitting outside relaxing.
