Coombe View Farm

Mi è piaciuto: Lovely, quiet site with beautiful views over the countryside. It suited us well.
There was nobody at reception when we arrived, but there was a phone number on the door to call. We were advised to head on in and park our moho wherever we liked. There were quite a few seasonal vans with the best views, but we found a lovely spot looking down over the valleys (although we later spotted that there were 2 fields open and if we had carried on further into the site, we literally would have had the place to ourselves, so it's worth doing a reccy before you park up). The site seemed exceptionally quiet, especially given that it was school Easter holidays. The site is on a slope, so ramps are required. We didn't used the loos, showers or washing up area, but they all looked ok. The chemical waste area was easy to use and was nice and clean.
It's a very steep walk up and down to Branscombe, but totally worth it to reach The Mason's Arms pub, which did the best Sunday roast ever! The entrance to the site looks like it has just been renewed and access was very easy.

Non mi è piaciuto: It was a bit odd having the owner driving up and down the site multiple times per day, but I think there was some work going on in the top field, so maybe he was supervising that. He was very friendly to us anyway.

The owner was supervising the work in the top field hence why he drove up and down the site multiple times. He does like to be friendly to the guests when he's out and about and keeps an eye on the site. We look forward to seeing you again.

Mi è piaciuto: Lovely peaceful spot, friendly owners and cute newborn lambs! Showers were clean and warm.

Non mi è piaciuto: Mislead into thinking we could get a bus 5 mins walk down the lane. Not the case it was a mile and a half down hill along narrow road to nearest bus stop. Would not have booked if we'd known this

You were not mislead at all. The Bus could be caught 5 mins walk from the site but unfortunately the Council recently changed the route therefore 10 - 15 mins walk from the site and we were unaware of this. To catch the bus at present you do not need to go down any hills and it is just a little further on from where the bus picked up originally, not even a miles walk. We are in the process of contacting the Council to get the route changed back to its original one.

Mi è piaciuto: The site is beautiful, and very quiet! The facilities are basic but clean, water was plenty hot enough for showers and washing up. All dogs were kept on leads and everyone was friendly. I will definitely stay again. Loved that the site had put signs further up the road telling you to ignore the sat nav with the correct directions.

Mi è piaciuto: Static caravan in a beautiful spot - even though the weather was changeable we could always enjoy a lovely view from indoors! I had a problem with my booking (life stuff!) and Helen was really helpful - I was very grateful. WiFi very welcome - it's not guaranteed but was certainly good in our static caravan. No-frills clean accommodation at an affordable price - recommended!

We did make improvements to the entrance for this season, but unfortunately, heavy rains have caused it to wash out again. The good news is that we’ve already planned for further alterations next season, and we’re hopeful this will make a big difference.

As for the pitches, we’ve found that most campers are able to level themselves out without issue, but we completely understand that it can be tricky at times. If you were having trouble, we would have been more than happy to assist you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need help during future visits.

Non mi è piaciuto: The site is basic, you can see the sea, a couple of cows and ponies in the distance.

Toilets and shower blocks are dated but clean

Prepare yourself for the owners. An elderly man drives round in his car every 10 minutes checking on people and asking what you are doing

Another man along with a purple haired lady drives round on a gator, checking on people and what I can only describe as verbally abusing people

The man on the gator provided us with some verbal abuse around our fire pit being on bricks (they did ask us to put them on bricks). This was comical. What I didn’t find pleasant was when the man swore several times at my child for touching his fence.

If you are after a basic campsite, many rules, constantly being checked on and a good measure of verbal abuse, adults and children are fair game - book this campsite you won’t be disappointed

We understand that the locked gate might have been an inconvenience during your stay. Unfortunately, due to past incidents where the gate was left open, which resulted in livestock escaping onto the roads and campsite, we've had to keep it locked for safety reasons. However, we’re always happy to assist – if you had asked, we would have gladly opened the gate for you and ensured you could access it on your return.

It’s worth noting that this pathway only leads partway down the hill and doesn’t directly reach the beach, but we would have been happy to suggest the best route. We hope you had a great time and look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Mi è piaciuto: The site is nice and very well kept(Grass). You can see animals on the fields in the distance.
Showers were not to bad,always warm with plenty of power

Non mi è piaciuto: Getting on and off site is terrible.the biggest dip I have ever seen.it needs a ton on chipping atleast to fill it in. Sinks for washing up fine but not under cover.toilets on arrival were cleanish few things on the floor.they were not cleaned in the 4 days we were there (still same stuff on floor).we found the pitches to be quite small. There was an issue with our kids playing with other children and 1 of them touched the plastic ribbon fence. The guy who was cutting the grass swore at the kids. They all do drive up and down several times a day and can stare at you.we found the owner (now retired) a nice guy. We only seen the lady 1 time.but the other guy was not very approachable. We found him abit rude and intimidating. Always going on about the grass and don't burn it.everywhere you look are scorch marks.wouldnt stay again and would not recommend. We were made aware of people leaving early because of issues with the staff

Regarding the tape, it is used to clearly separate different areas of the site to maintain order and safety for all guests.
