Little Monkey Camp

With a range of ecosystems within its 296 square miles, Kibale National Park is the big draw here, of course. This park is known to have both one of the highest concentrations of primates in Africa, and the biggest diversity of species too – bring your binoculars and you may spot chimpanzees, red colobus monkeys and blue monkeys, plus 10 other species. The best outings nearby will depend on the season, so have a chat with the folk on site to organise things like chimpanzee trekking, snake tours, birdwatching trips and butterfly experiences, as well as general safari outings to see the park’s big beasts. Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary (five minutes’ drive), just outside the national park, is another excellent spot to visit, with nature tours helping guests to spot birds, primates and other species.
