When you’re after a camping break at the seaside, they don’t come much closer to the waves than Rambla Beach Resort on the shores of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Tucked under pine trees, the spacious pitches overlook golden-sand Fiumetta Beach – available for the use of all guests – and are backed by the impressive flanks of rugged Monte Giove. Equally impressive are the on-site facilities: with tables spread out under the trees, the restaurant offers a menu of family-friendly favourites like pizzas and fresh seafood (there’s a takeaway service too), and the stylish beach bar down on the sand is just the spot for a sundowner with cocktail in hand. And here’s something you won’t come across very often: a natural spring runs right alongside the campsite straight from the slopes of Monte Giove; if you’re feeling a bit under par, have a paddle in the cold but pristine water to benefit from its therapeutic properties. Other (more mundane but jolly handy) extras include electric hook-ups for all the pitches, ample parking, facilities blocks with a choice of cold-water showers or coin-operated hot ones, and sinks for laundry and dishes. The site is also 10 minutes’ drive from the ancient city of Terracina in Lazio, where you can get your fill of history, while away evenings in waterfront bars and stock up on supplies.

Anyone looking to get active can play volleyball on the sand, use the campsite’s CrossFit equipment or join in organised windsurfing, kitesurfing and windfoiling jaunts from the beach. You can also head inland to hike the Monte Giove massif (15 minutes’ drive), but if that’s a bit too strenuous for younger kids, introduce them to hiking on the way-marked paths amid the foothills of Parco Regionale Monti Ausoni e Lago di Fondi (20 minutes). A tad further inland are the Caves of Pastena (50 minutes), where underground tours lead past millennia-old limestone formations to lakes and waterfalls, and you can discover more subterranean wonders in the Monumento Naturale Grotte di Falvaterra e Rio Obaco (55 minutes). Time for a deep delve into classical history? Hotfoot it to the Temple of Jupiter (15 minutes), overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea from its clifftop eerie, or have a stroll around the gently crumbling Foro Emiliano and Teatro Romano in historic Terracina (10 minutes). Close by is the colonnaded cathedral and its ornate bell tower, both standing on ancient Roman remains.

Sicuramente la piazzola è molto ampia ma senza una divisione fra tende e camper, elettricità disponibile.
L’unico vero punto di forza di questo luogo è la sua spiaggia

N'a pas aimé: 1. Il ristorante offre tre (3) piatti, non di più, chiamarlo ristorante è un po’ eccessivo

A aimé : Nice site, very friendly owner great pizza cooked on site.Very nice beach but a bit messy.
Terracina is fantastic place to explore.

N'a pas aimé: The fact it was next to a car park for people using the beach so a lot of strangers around cutting through pitches.
