Fancy living the Adriatic island dream with the kids in tow? Lando Resort on Rab may well be what you’re looking for. This well-maintained and prettily landscaped family campsite is surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation and overlooks sandy Mel Beach… and if the kids are not keen on swimming in the sea, there are two heated swimming pools on site. Active types can play beach volleyball on the sand, or hire pedal boats and surfboards to explore the coastline. The sailing is superb around the island too, and if you charter a yacht, the campsite staff will advise you on where to go and what to see. Rab also abounds in hiking trails and cycling routes, and you can hire bikes five minutes’ walk from your pitch. Spacious hardstanding pitches are neatly divided by hedges and tucked under the trees, shading guests from the strong summer sunshine. Each is served by a water connection, drainage and electricity, and there’s also a fully-equipped summer kitchen (with dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and kettle) plus a communal barbecue for those of you into cooking alfresco. The nearest grocery store for picking up food is five minutes’ walk away in the pretty fishing village of Kampor. If self-catering isn’t your thing, down on Mel Beach there are a couple of chilled beach bars – ideal for watching Rab’s spectacular sunsets – as well as restaurants close by serving the island’s traditional ‘rapsko sočivo’ stew with bacon and beans.

Attractions à proximité

With all the sporting activity down on Mel Beach, you may never want to stray very far. However, there are 30 beaches on the island of Rab, with some of the best being at Banjol (15 minutes’ drive), where three connecting bays form Padova Beach, backed by cool bars and terrace restaurants. Family-friendly Lopar (25 minutes) is home to the sweeping sandy bay of Paradise Beach and an aquapark with waterslides and jetski hire. Away from the beaches, this gorgeous island is begging to be explored. The wooded Park-šuma Komrčar hiking area (10 minutes) serves up stunning views of the coastline, and moving inland, the steep climb up Kamenjak (25 minutes) is rewarded with spectacular vistas across the whole of Rab to the mountainous Croatian mainland. Back down on the coast, soak up the historic ambiance of Rab town (10 minutes), wrapped by ancient walls and home to the 12th-century Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Taste island produce in the vineyards and olive groves of Mundanije (15 minutes), and lively Supetarska Draga (20 minutes) has a smattering of craft shops around its lively yacht marina.

A aimé : Die liebevoll angelegte Anlage ist direkt hinter dem Strand und ist sauber und gepflegt. Die Sanitären Einrichtungen (Reinigung mehrmals täglich) sind sauber und modern, 2 kleine Pools zum Abkühlen vorhanden. Wichtig, keine Party Meile - abendliche und nächtliche Ruhe!
Gastronomie in unmittelbarer Nähe, kleiner Supermarkt mit dem Fahrrad in 5 Minuten erreichbar. Der Sandstrand ist ist mega und sauber. Keine Seeigel weit und breit. Mann läuft ungefähr 75 m weit rein bis man schwimmen kann. Der Wohnwagen Stellplatz (Schotterfläche) ist großzügig angelegt mit Wasser-, Strom- und Abwasseranschluss. Wer möchte kann sogar im kleinen Hotel zum Frühstücken, gegen Zahlung , einkehren.

N'a pas aimé: Negatives gibt es nicht! Wir sind total begeistert. Haben schon andere Stellplätze erlebt.
Kleiner Hinweis: bitte nicht den Schotterweg zum Campingplatz nehmen. Dort befinden sich wuchernde Bäume, welche das Wohnmobil verkratzen könnten. Ausweichmöglichkeiten unmöglich. Es gibt noch einen Weg durch den Ort. Einfach weiter fahren und sich neu leiten lassen.

A aimé : Localisation is great. The entire bay is very peaceful and calm place.
Almost no loud music!
Behind the campsite is amazing National Park with trail and wild beaches. Staff very helpful and nice.

N'a pas aimé: The bay is very shallow close to the canpsite. It might be advantage for very small kids, who can't swim but for the youngsters is a bit boring:)
