Cwm Wye Camping

A aimé : Easy to get to but can't hear any main roads. Clearly set out pitches. Wonderful wooded area with firepit available for use, fire barbecue available, covered picnic table. Several picnic tables. Access to the Wye valley walk along the river. Would definitely go back. No WiFi but we wouldn't expect that in a site like this so it didn't bother us.

A aimé : Amazing secluded site, with great 'wild camping' feel, but a lovely warm shower and toilets in the woods. Also right on the Lon Las Cymru cycle route that we were following.

A aimé : Location, set up and people running the site are fantastic. It was better than my expectations and has rekindled my interest in going camping again. It was a tonic being able to find a 'simple' campsite that had everything you needed (water, warm shower, toilet) and no electric hook ups, music, noise. I could just relax and listen to the sounds of birds and animals while looking at a dark sky. It felt like a real luxury in this day and age.

N'a pas aimé: Nothing - just disappointed that I was leaving

A aimé : We had lots of space around our two pitches and a gazebo had been erected with a fire and wood. The owner was very friendly and helped us with all our queries. There was a really good walk down the river to Built Wells and many others nearby. No doubt this would be a great base for exploring many other parts of Wales. Lots of interesting birds in the sky, including kites and swallows.

N'a pas aimé: It's quite a new site, so there is not much signage to guide you around. I am sure things like this will improve over time. Public transport is not very close, but it is on National Cycle Network Route 8 (which goes between north and south Wales) and the Wye Valley Walk.

This is only our second season open so we appreciate any comments to help us grow.

A aimé : I stayed at Cwm Wye with some friends and we all had a fabulous time. The campsite had beautiful views and was well managed. We were looking for a place to get back to nature and Cwm Wye definitely offered that. The facilities were exactly like the photos and felt very well thought out and in sync with the surroundings.

We had a wild swim in the River Wye, which is easily accessible from the campsite. We saw red kites, stars and wonderful oaks.

A aimé : Really lovely, quiet spot. Pitches are really generous and there were loads of really nice and thoughtful touches. Good facilities and Tania was very welcoming.

A aimé : Such a lovely place to stay. Homemade dens, wood bunker, compost toilets, firepit area with everything you need to light up/cook with, a charming little shower out in the wild. Perfect clear sky at night for stargazing. Gives a true camping vibe, lovely experience will definitely be coming back.

We stayed here the night before we went to the Royal Welsh show and couldn’t have asked for anymore! We forgot the pegs to our tent and Tanya found us some and very kindly pegged us up. Gave us advice on the nearest supermarket and how to get to the show.

A aimé : Lovely site, facilities were super clean and regularly inspected, very friendly and helpful owner, love the info board on the way in and the wheelbarrows to move your gear. Loved being able to walk straight onto the path along the river. Would definitely visit again if we were going to the area.
