I'm glad to hear you liked our hot showers and fire pits.

We like to keep the campsite as light pollution free as possible to give it the 'wild camping' feel.

I'm sorry to hear you found the pitch uncomfortable. All our different pitches make it unique (unlike a giant field filled with campers) however as the land was previously used to quarry, some pitches aren't 100% level.

A aimé : The site is well maintained and beautifully rural, the wildlife clearly love it and it was a joy to be able to listen to and watch the birds during my stay. Harry was friendly and helpful. I will be back!

A aimé : Greeted by Harry, such a lovely guy welcomed me and shown me the bunker and a quick breaf about where things are. Such a lovely location, great way to connect with the nature and away from city lights.

A aimé : Tranquil and relaxed site completely immersed in nature. Pitches are separated by banks and trees and invisible to one another. The site Manager, Harry, was welcoming and very obliging. We ordered firewood in advance of our stay and when we arrived it had been very carefully stored in waterproof bins.
The WW1 trench tour was truly interesting - Ian, the guide was extremely knowledgable and had put a lot of effort into showing us all aspects of life in the trenches.

N'a pas aimé: A little bit of road noise but it really wasn't a bother. It certainly wouldn't put us off staying again.

A aimé : Fantastic woodland setting with good facilities. Felt like you were really in the countryside.

N'a pas aimé: Quite hilly and steep on some of the pitches which could be a challenge for those with limited mobility.

A aimé : It’s a lovely site lots of trees and spaced out places to put tents up, toilets and showers clean, staff very friendly and helpful, would definitely stay again

Able to leave car in car park so just got away from it all
Great warden couldn’t help enough with tour of facilities

N'a pas aimé: Maybe slightly better sign so you can slow down safer when getting close to entrance

Thank you for the feedback about the taps and washing facilities.

The water pipe only runs along one side of the site (from the housing estate behind) which is why it's where it is. However, we can look at getting a water tape put further near the front of the site, on the same side. We will add this to our list of things to discuss for 2025.
