Camp Hartland

A aimé : Free to come and go as we pleased. Good facilities and nice hot water!
Lots of space and no set pitches meant we were not penned in like cattle as you get at some other sites.
Dog friendly but not noisy. Our dogs slept soundly through the night.

N'a pas aimé: Lacked signage once on their track. We sat around for 10 minutes not knowing where to go once we arrived before a helpful man (I assume owner) came over to tell us we could go in any field we liked.

Slightly on a hill so I rolled off my bed through the night.

A aimé : It was good to picknour own camp site on the lower field.
I must admit though more toilets would be better as this is a large area with lots of other guests

N'a pas aimé: It wasn't totally clear how to book in. A larger sign maybe a bit higher and brighter would be good



As above more just toilets would be preferable

A aimé : Great little site right on the moors, so if you like walking around with wild horses and donkeys, it's a great place to stay. Wareham, Corfe Castle and the rest of the attractions in the area are all easily accessible.
Family toilets are very clean and well kept, and there's extra showers if they're full. Nice site, easy to check in, and the cafe is always open if you need to speak someone.
Some people have reviewed that they didn't like there not being someone in a kiosk or office to go to. If you want that, go elsewhere. If you're after a quiet little site in a beautiful area with great facilities for all sorts of groups, then this is a great option.
If we head that way again, I'd certainly look to book here again.

A aimé : Relaxed atmosphere. The kids loved the animals and play area. We love a campsite where you can have fire on the ground too. We only stayed for one night but would stay again.

A aimé : Great location and clean site. Beautiful views very easy to find pitch up and enjoy holiday.

A aimé : Everything! We had a fantastic stay. The children loved looking at the horses and chickens and they enjoyed the trampoline. We thought the main toilet and shower block was great - just like being in an actual bathroom. The adults in the family used the eco loos when necessary and the shower shack, but the kids were less keen. Loved the mown paths leaving lots of natural areas for wildlife. Lots of footpaths to the local nature reserves. Onsite cafe was great, open 10-6 every day. Cafe staff and campsite owners were friendly and helpful. I had to phone when we got back as I had mislaid my purse, and the the lady who answered the phone was very friendly and helpful. Luckily, I have now located it so panic over.

N'a pas aimé: Only a tiny thing - my 6 year old couldn't reach the taps or the soap in the toilets. A step would be great to encourage independence.

A aimé : The whole experience was great. When you turn up you pick the field you think is best for you. We picked the one closest to the bathrooms.
They have two family bathrooms as well as separate toilets and showers. As a family with young children, Being able to have a whole bathroom with what you need is amazing. It is a large space and they are super clean considering how many people use them.
Plenty of space to pick from. We went start of the week in the summer holidays and it wasn’t crazy busy so you didn’t feel squished in. Plenty of room for the kids to play and wonder to see the horses.
Reading some reviews from last years about having no bins (we didn’t mind having to take our rubbish away with us) they do now have bins near the exit.
The kitchen (cafe) is great! The staff are super friendly and helpful and the food and drink is reasonably priced. On a super hot day they do cold cans for £1 and an ice cream for £3. Plus all the food selection they have.
This will be on my return list 😊

A aimé : Had a great night camping. The camp was fairly quiet and shower and facilities were great! I liked how close you could be to the facilities as other campsites you have to walk miles. Also great you could leave at any time.

N'a pas aimé: Not a dislike but the sign to the eco loos were a bit hidden from the main campsite so I only noticed them just before we were about the leave. It just needs to be closer to the campsite. I didn’t have a problem but others were waiting for the loo in the morning so I guess they didn’t see the sign either.

As the campsite is quite small you can hear loud people at night so I had to wear ear plugs.
