From crabbing off Cromer’s pier to catching waves down the local beach to simple fish and chips on the seafront, there are all sorts of Norfolk coast activities to fill your days with when you stay at Counting Sheep Glamping. A 25-minute drive away from The Broads too, this modern site has a dedicated and friendly family at the helm, including Stuart, his wife Donna and their three children. The Norfolk coast, just two miles away, has a crafty way of reeling you in. It might be down to its scenic coastal walks or its laidback beaches, but either way, you’ll only have 10 minutes’ drive to reach the closest sandy beach in Mundesley, a safe swimming spot with surfing activities. You’ll be able to get in some real relaxation on site too, as the modern facilities have a homely feel and barbecues and campfires are permitted to help stir up atmospheric alfresco evenings. The site is just outside the village of Trunch, where there’s a pub serving food within five minutes' walk of your accommodation. Handily, there's also a small shop there for food supplies and any bits of kit you may have forgotten. Outdoor pursuits are likely to fill much of your time, but a local spot high up on the family’s recommendations is an indoor soft play centre, American-style diner and bowling alley, 10 minutes’ drive away – a handy pick for entertaining kids on a damp day.

Aimé We had a wonderful one nights stay in the shepherds hut. Perfect for just what we wanted as a mini break with the kids. Great facilities ie hot showers, clean toilets in communal areas. The space for the kids to run around and explore was fab. Sitting around the camp fire eating marshmallows was perfect evening.
We will definitely be back! Thank you.

Aimé Spotlessly clean, and the whole site was really well kept.

Perfect location for several beaches
Lovely pub serving food - 5 minute walk away
The yurt we staying in was just perfect - lovely comfy beds and it was really well equipped with everything we could possibly need.
Perfect secure site for children - they were able to go off on their own and we could see them at all times.
Blankets provided in the communal area
Firewood/lighters available to purchase either by cash or bank transfer

Aimé Warm cosy bed. Quiet. Toilets and showers very clean.

Non aimé No instructions for hob - could not get it to work (faulty?). Fridge could not take milk bottles or juice cartons. Chipped and cracked mug. Flashing lights from alarms made sleep difficult.

Aimé Counting Sheep Glamping was great the facilities were good and clean the bell tent was spacious and comfortable perfect place for relaxing and visiting the Norfolk coast, Mundesley beach is great, the glamping site would be a great place for an extended family gathering.

Aimé The site was very clean and tidy with all the facilities easy to get to and use. The tent I stayed in was very comfortable and large enough for a family of four. Was there best 2 night's sleep I've had in a while

Attractions locales

There’s more to Cromer (15 minutes’ drive) than just crabbing… this seaside town was once a Victorian resort and the pier and pavilion still remain. On the sandy beach, surfing and paddleboarding are some of the activities of choice – the same goes for Sea Palling beach (half an hour), where watersports such as jet skiing are in full force. For those of you who are keen to keep to the water, The Broads (25 minutes) is the place to hire out a boat for the day. Otherwise, you might want to opt for fish and chips on the shore in Sheringham (half an hour) and have a traditional seaside afternoon out, including arcades or a steam train ride to Holt. Now, while the sea certainly takes some of the limelight around here, you’ll also want to map out your way to some of the attractions inland too. There’s BeWILDerwood Norfolk (25 minutes) for playgrounds and twiggle characters, but for a trip that feels a little grander, perhaps you’ll want to call in at the National Trust’s Blickling Estate (25 minutes) or Felbrigg Hall, Gardens and Estate (15 minutes), the latter also a good shout for woodland trails and lakes.
