Me gustó: John gave us a very warm welcome. Campsite was gorgeous and clean with good facilities, short walk away from lovely Portpatrick village. Would return.

Me gustó: Views were exquisite. Staff very friendly. Beautiful part of the country.
Town within walking distance.

No me gustó: Felt like the pitches were on the small side. You could here your neighbours conversations.
Rubbish dump to the rear of pitches full of old wood.
It would have been nice to have some grass next to your pitch to sit out on.
Elsan was a hole in the ground next to static vans instead of near the touring pitches.

Me gustó: Beautiful location and walks with stunning views. Toilets and showers very clean and warm. Water at dish washing station could be warmer.

No me gustó: Bins overflowing and birds had got at them. No recycling options so took that home.

Me gustó: The amazing view from my pitch over the Irish sea to Northern Ireland and the castle ruins. The toilets were lovely and clean and modern. Great friendly welcome from the owner. Well looked after site.

Me gustó: Really great site with fantastic views of the Irish sea and dunskey castle.
Shower block was clean and well maintained.
Great little walk into portpatrick along the coastal path

No me gustó: Fresh water tap, grey waste and chemical waste weren't too close to the motorhome pitches. Located near the touring caravan and static caravans as was the toilet/shower block.

Me gustó: The rugged coastline is wonderful and the walks around the area are amazing. The walk into Portpatrick takes about 20 minutes where you can encounter cliff birds nesting and a look around Dunskey castle. Portpatrick itself is a beautiful , chilled place to visit with loads of opportunities to have a nice lunch and possibly a drink or two. Castle bay site manager John and his team will go above and beyond to help you. I had a fuse blow in my motorhome on the first night and was without heating and lighting. John arrived first thing in the morning with a heater, a lamp and a replacement cable. A true legend.

Me gustó: The views were amazing and the site is in a perfect place for getting out and about in the area. It’s very well kept. The shower blocks were very clean.

No me gustó: Paid £35 per night for a hardstanding pitch but was placed on grass. The grass area was fine and not slutchy and was actually very good, but I feel it should be advertised as grass pitch and not hardstanding. Electric was down the first night and after that, wasn’t enough to power our heating meaning we had to use gas. Again not a problem, but the price should reflect that. However, I do feel the electric might be a teething issue. There was a landfill area right at the back of our van. Luckily, we were facing the amazing views of the sea, but it was a little strange to walk out of the van to look at an area filled with rubbish.

Me gustó: The pitch was in a great position, right on the sea front. Basic amenities but everything you need

No me gustó: The shower pressure was fine but there was no dry area to get dressed
