Me gustó: Fulfilling a childhood dream from my Famous Five and Kizzy/Diddakoi days and I wasn't disappointed. The site is tranquil and the sky like a planetarium. The toilet and shower are far better than they sound! We found everything we needed in the shared kitchen and the host family were lovely and very helpful, as were the friendly staff at the village shop/tea shop, who provided us with the best sandwiches ever and even ginger beer! Such a great place we stayed on an extra night.

Me gustó: Such a peaceful place within easy travelling distance of Castle Howard and York. I stayed in the Romany Caravan and loved it. Facilities are great in the kitchen. I would definitely return and have already recommended to friends.

Me gustó: An absolutely lovely idyllic place. So peaceful and quiet. Grania and her mum made us feel so welcome. Very helpful and responsive throughout and friendly on arrival. There is everything you need for your stay in the communal kitchen area. The outdoor shower and composting toilet is quirky but you get used to it and certainly does not spoil your stay. The tent was warm, cosy and comfortable with the added bonus of electric. The area is fantastic for walking, sightseeing or you can just relax on site. We will definitely be returning. Thankyou for letting us enjoy the day with Mouse. Such a lovely dog. 😊

Me gustó: We stayed in the gypsy caravan was absolutely fantastic. Amenities where amazing cute lil kitchen shed along with onsite toilet and warm shower. Better than we were expecting many memories made and will definitely be going back. Family who owned it were so friendly and inviting.

Me gustó: The most beautiful and tranquil setting to enjoy quality family time together. Fabulous and welcoming hosts. The bell tent was very cosy and comfortable. Cannot wait to come back and stay again

No me gustó: Our only dislike was that our stay ended and we couldn’t stay longer haha

Me gustó: My daughter treated me to this retreat for my 70th birthday. It was a total suprise. I arrived and was shocked at seeing the gypsy wagon. This was a dream come true, the gyspy wagon featuring log burner, communal facilities, bedding towels everything provided. Loved the peace and quiet. Such a scenic place.The owner was lovely, she couldn't do enough, she was very helpful and friendly, brilliant hospitality. Myself and my partner will def come back. I miss this place already

Me gustó: We were lucky enough to stay at Roma Rosa, as a friend had bought it for me as a birthday gift. The bell tent was so sweet, and Grania had even added some extra special touches for my birthday which we really appreciated. The scenery was beautiful (highly recommend walking to The Grapes Inn, a pub with loads of character, so much fun and sells the most delicious pizza). We had lovely warm showers every day and enjoyed a barbecue in the evening (with all food bought from the Howard Castle farm shop). It was the perfect weekend, only topped off by gorgeous Mouse the dog coming over to the tent for lots of cuddles on Sunday morning. Will definitely be back!
